Rutger.  Because it's sometimes as much about character as it is speed.

travisdotn - 2008-01-06 11:25 PM Am I the only one that thinks McCormack is a dick? From interviews i have read and heard he seems very arrogant and pompous. Also a pro i met along the way(also from Australia) said that around his parts, people dont want anything to do with people associated with "Macca" because of his attitude. That is just what i think/heard. Travis

When I saw "Favourite Professional Triathlete of the Year", i immediately thought of Beke.  His decision to continue out of respect for age groupers was a fine gesture, one that was not lost of triathletes at that race and around the world.

Listen to some of his podcast interviews and you'll probably change your opinion...magazine articles did to just use a quote here and there...There is a really good one at ironmantalk.com right now.

I added BT's own MadCow and Aluminum1.  They both completed a double iron and that is now small accomplishment.   While they may not be professionals they are both pros.  Anyone who can survive that amount of pain is great in my book.

Taking nothing away from Madcow and Aluminum, I added grvfrog - she set the womens record at the Virginia Triple this year and that deserves some note as well. Can I vote more than once? All 3 BTers up there deserve recognition.

It would appear that I failed to read the word in the parenthesis up there... MAN. Kinda disqualifies Ms. grvfrog. Sorry folks...
