Did anyone hear about this Winter tri in New London, finishing off with a 1-mile swim across the Thames?  It would almost be worth it to get the chance to swim across the Thames, but ...... brrrrrrrr......

Here is a link to the article in the day.

I have friends who do a frozen fin dive in the Thames on 1/1 each year. It's actually not unbearable with booties, gloves and a hood.

What I don't understand is how you get swim gear to New London? You start and end your bike in Groton and start your run there as well. Cool. But you need to have your swim bag in NL pre-race. Guess Bruce has that figured out.

I don't have the gear for it and have the "recovery" excuse to get out of this and any potential polar bear club activities.

I had no idea about this, I am gonna try and do it, just skip the swim because I have no winter swim gear or a wetsuit for that matter.
