Pre-race routine:

Bundled up... had a piece of Xmas candy and drove down to the Registration with Viktors.

Event warmup:

Jogged to the start... Said hello to my friend Angie... found a spot near the front and shivered.

  • 3.11 miles

Comments:

This was a difficult run... It was cold and windy and the course covered in snow and ice. There were a lot of fast runners (typical Denver race!) and the 1st mile was fast.

What would you do differently?:

Not start out so fast. My first mile was 5:31 and my second and 3rd miles were much slower.
Post race
Warm down:

Waited for SGT Vik to finish and then we walked to the HS to have a slice of pizza.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The conditions and my aggressive start

Event comments:

This race has become a yearly tradition. The past two years the course has been an ice skating rink.

Nice race.  My wife, daughter and I were planning to do this, but were not brave enough to battle the cold.  We used to do this every year, but the last 2 were just not happenng.

You're the man....

Plus I did get tired of getting shirts with big pictues of Carmelo on them.
