Quads are sore. Huh. Those sprints apparently did some good. Raining like crazy, cold and dark. YES. I love this weather. I hate the summertime heat here, 198 degrees really sucks (OK so it's like 111 or so, still that sucks). I have an article to write for tomorrow, one for Monday...may work on them later. In-laws heading in to visit today, taking oldest daughter to Eureka tomorrow for the week. We will just be three, Kent, baby and me. Mark's birthday is Sunday. God we miss him. Damn it. Not sure what to do to honor him that day, may go to Sac, Eureka or SF. All three figured largely in his life. He would have been 40. The big 4-0 and we can't hassle him about it! Need to do some laundry but was up until midnight finishing articles on New Paltz NY (AWESOME SPORTS MECCA YOU MUST GO THERE) and Maine train trips...then the stupid cat was jingling his bell all over the house at 5 a.m. and I didn't want to get up to throw him into the garage, because when he knows he's going to get tossed, he runs...so I dealt with the jingling for an hour. Kent eventually woke up and threw him out instead. Some days I want to punt that cat.

Ran Intervals: 2 mile warmup, 12:00ish mile pace; 8x30 second sprints at 8:00/mile pace, bumping down over the sprints to end at 6:56/mile pace. 2 minute walking breaks between sprint intervals. Then 2 mile cooldown at 11:30 pace. Total mileage 5.5.

Felt great. Wrote 3 articles today; one of them was a pain in the a**. Crap. The other two were pretty quick. Submitted for review.

Approximate time; didn't keep track.

didn't go to the Y, eye dr. appointment; got "bifocal" sunglasses so I can have the +0.75 reading glasses on bottom and plain sunglasses on top. far sight is totally perfect, but just need a little help to read when I'm tired especially. Not bad. I improved; last year I was a +1.00. Wonder why...stress and exhaustion from the year from hell? I will be glad of the sunglasses; I was reading in the car the other day on teh way to Sac, and I put my sunglasses over my reading glasses so I wouldn't get glared out. Yuck. Did some more writing for my freelance job. Still time consuming but i hope I'm getting the hang of it. Did an article on Mache (salad green) and realized as soon as I submitted that I totally overwrote it. Will need to rewrite for sure.

Well. Sudafed works great apparently. felt good enough yesterday that today I did it again, then went to the Y. I figured I'd do a walk/run, and ended up running 6. Had to take a couple minute-long breaks between the latter miles, but the breaks were only on the mile markers. Felt good, wow!

On the run, I started at an easy 12:30/mile pace and then kept bumping up the speed until I was around 11:00. The last little bit I ran 10:00 pace, so I ended with a negative split and six miles. YES.

Nothing much, looked for some articles to write online. Still feeling like crap. Three weeks and counting? or are we at four? Trying to take sudafed in the mornings to help with the antibiotic, maybe that will work.

Doctor for infection. EKG was normal, blood pressure elevated a bit, probably the infection taking hold caused the fever which caused the heart palpitations. Back on bactrim. Again. I'm getting sick of infections. LOL bad pun. But I have had enough!

Maybe walking later...we'll see. This time the infection is on my stomach. Yuck.
