Can I really do a marathon?

Ran to Ohio and back. David had me warm up for 10, insert 4 bursts of 30 seconds over 10 minutes and cool down for 5. My goal was to get my HR to race pace and then bring it back down each time. I let it go up to close to 180 and brought it back down to 165. That was hard! It took longer each time to bring it down. Once it went up, I could slow down dramatically, and it still seemed to stay high. The last time I had to walk to bring it down. That brought it down quickly.

Indoor trainer because it was so cold. Kept a steady pace wit 80-85 cadence. Fairly low gear, though.

Wound around neighborhood with kids in stroller trying to avoid strong north winds. Felt pretty good. Going downhill I kept my HR under 162 and my speed at 5mph. Uphill, HR was only slightly higher, but my speed dropped to more like 4.2. The short trek into the wind felt like a standstill with that stroller acting like a sail! The kids didn't like it either as the temp was only 50 degrees. So, for their sake, I changed course to only an E-W route.

1600 with some breaks. Mostly 100 or 200 with a :30 rest. Felt pretty good. Came closest to breaking the 2:00 barrier. I hit the wall and the watch said 2:00.something, but I don't know the decimal. I don't consider this reaching my goal until I see BELOW 2:00. Maybe next time??
