Ran with Katie around Russell Creek park with extension to Custer. Went out Bonita instead of Stonebridge to cut some of the extra distance off, but came back Stonebridge.

Our goal was to run a hopeful marathon pace of 10:20. We were really close to that but sped up on the last two miles. It felt like some work, but it wasn't too bad. A great practice for us. We ended up averaging about a minute faster than our 15 mile long run on Sunday, so we are right on track! I loved how we got faster even as the return was slightly uphill. It feels good when training is going well! HRM was useless today, so I don't know where that was, but it appears I may have been in the zone for 4 miles, and above for the last 3 (for the uphill return and faster pace).

Ran on the Chisholm with Katie. Shannon joined us for the last 5 miles. The temps stayed in the mid-70s, so that was fantastic. I felt great the whole time, and my HR was right were I wanted it. It was even too low the first 2-3 miles! And I was above the zone for less than 1 minute! Yea!

Linda was here, so I was able to run without the stroller AND not get up so early! The watch is measuring very long today, so I will need to check that out. Temps weren't bad, and I had to speed up to get the HR in the right zone. Unfortunately, I wasn't going as fast as it appeared when I corrected the distances. The sun felt HOT by the end, but it still wasn't too bad. HR was great, and I was over the zone only 5 seconds!

Ran the North loop, but I came back on the trail instead of Preston Meadows.

Ran with Katie in the threatening weather. We met at Jack Carter Pool as Katie was staying at her mom's house because the air conditioner was out at hers. We woke up to dry streets, but we could see a storm off to the west. We decided to go ahead since it was dry now, and the risk seemed mimimal. We figured we would get we by the end, but we thought we would miss the heavy stuff.

We started out with a quick pace because we knew time was short. My HR was probably high (HRM was off, so I am not completely sure) as indicated by my breathing, but it wasn't overly hard becuase the temps were cooler (although 95% humidity). We were dry to first 2 miles and lightly sprinkled or rained on the next 2. We turned around at the only available bridge for the approximate distance we wanted, so we knew we would be short of our desired 7, but 6.5 sounded good for a rainy day! By mile 4.5, the rain was getting heavier, and a half mile later, the skies opened up! We hit a wall of cool air just before, and the winds picked up! The rain started stinging, and we were quickly soaked. It became so heavy, we were running through an inch or more of water at time. I have only been this wet running once before! We knew it was only 15 minutes back to our cars, but it seemed to take a long time. The thunder got so loud, and the lightning so bright that we questioned our decision to run in this, but I am still glad we did as I know I would have not made it up with Linda arriving this afternoon.

HRM and altitude stopped working corrently when we hit the wall of cool air. Must have been the change of barometric pressure.
