Cool and very windy ride this morning at Pope. Almost blown off my bike 2 different times. Felt bad for my buds that were riding with 80 mm wheels!

Felt great during the swim today. Swam hard, mostly completing all the 100s in 1:30 with a few slightly higher, but under 1:35, efforts.

Tough, tough run. Feel as though I'm fighting off a cold, my feet hurt, I had to poo, it was cold and windy, I was hungry, and it was dark....WAAAAAH!

Rough night. Oldest son could not sleep b/c he was afraid, so we were up from 1-3AM. Hate that he's scared at night. Bagged the bike this morning to try and make up that sleep.

Swim today was awesome. Did a warmup, then knocked out 2 sets of 8x100 yards on the 1:50. Felt really good in there today.

The government shutdown really threw a wrench in the gears this week. Have been super busy doing things for it, and have not had access to a pool to swim. I'm not one to swim alone in a lake, but that was an option.

Feeling kind of panicky right now b/c B2B is only 3 weeks out. Has my training been adequate? I've worked hard, but have not quite reached the volume I would have liked. Tis the life of a working family man, I guess...

Headed out for a brick. Nothing long or spectacular.

-Update-
Pushed the hills on this effort. Garmin took a dump on one section. I don't know if it just lost satellite reception or what the heck happened. Hit the run at low Z2 and kept it there for the entire ride.

Start of taper, but b/c my volume has not hit the 20 hour mark, I'll just stay at this volume one more week, which per the plan is around the same amount of hours I'm at now. I'll then come down during the two weeks after that...I actually feel pretty good about that decision.
