Really, really felt good in the water today. Have been playing with my form a bit and noticed that shortening arm length during pull is more efficient, faster, and less taxing. Yesterday, tested that out quite a few times during intervals. Did the same today and it just feels better.

Run was in low Z2. Felt great.

Army Reserves - Ft. Gordon

Busy today, but will try to get a swim in after work, then ride bike.

No plans to taper this week for Augusta. Maybe a bad call, but I don't want a low volume week during peak training. Augusta is just a fun race. Will race hard, but not going to worry if it doesn't go as planned.

Hope to swim/ride today, swim/run tomorrow, easy workout on Saturday, then race on Sunday...booyah!

Intervals at the pool. Shortened arm length during pull phase. Seems to be more efficient. Will test again tomorrow. Swim to bike. Rode a little longer than I had planned.

Generally easy run today. The new shoes were kind of tight (yankz), so will loosen them up just a little before another run on Friday.

Was super busy today during lunch and could not get out for a swim...SUCK.

Easy ride, at first, then pushed the last loop. Man, Pope Airfield can be tough if you want it to be. That last loop killed the legs.

Swim today was awesome! Did 2x 500m time trials at HIM speed. First 500 (warmup) was 10:03 for 540m, second was 9:44 for same distance. Pool was 27m. Will swim tomorrow and try wetsuit at same distance.

My goal for Augusta: 4:40.

Body feels good after the high training load this week. Going to pick up where I left off and am not planning to taper or reduce load for Augusta, which is on Sunday.

Killer.! I pulled for most of this ride. Felt really strong out there today, even on the way back from the town of Star. Moderate to strong headwind on the way back. The hills on the end of the PIT course were tough after 70+ miles.

We took it easy for the last loop (5 miles, or so) to cool down and just talk about the ride.

Augusta next weekend, then the last week of high volume after that...if you can call 15 hours high volume! ha!
