Monday - September 2

Lightning and thunder this morning, so will have to move workout to another part of the day. Bah, humbug.

Hot, humid run today. Started off easy, then brought it up into Z2.

So, this week will be a down week b/c of my race on Saturday. Plan is to take Friday completely off and do some extra stretching and icing. Will try to ride a few hours on Sunday.

Will look to ice, do some eccentrics, and just enjoy the day.

Good week and month of training. I don't recall having put in this many miles of quality cycling in a one month period. Yes, my ass is killing me, but I'm feeling stronger and stronger. I'm seriously looking forward to the first of my 100 mile rides later this month. If everything works out, I am planning on two over-distance rides the training weeks before and after Augusta. I'll begin my taper after that second over-distance ride.

I'm also super excited about starting my racing season. White Lake on Saturday, then Augusta in late September, then the big one in late October. I'm ready!

Wasn't really feeling it today. Decided to bag run after 30 mins and just save it for the weekend. Super busy at work and just had some things on my mind.

The P2's bottom bracket and bearings were toast. WTF? Bike is barely 1.5 years old. Also, both bearings in the ZIPP wheels needed replacing. Bike will be ready on Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. I have a 4+ hour ride tomorrow and it'll be done on the road bike, which has not been ridden very much...Tires are some old Krylions, which are slow and heavy. I took the aerobars off this bike when I got the P2. Should be a fun ride...

Rode with Mike, David, Steve, and another new rider today...Chuck. Steve and Mike fell off once Dav and I pushed the pace. Chuck joined us afterwards and it was right as I was about to start a pull. Hard, hard effort. I could barely pedal afterwards.

There are two places that I push the pace on the loop. Both of them end at the top of a hill. Pretty painful, but it's all good.

Swim today was, meh, OK.

Long run day. Kept it easy peasy, but did pick it up a little towards the end. Felt pretty good afterwards. No water or nutrition throughout.

Swim was great. Need to add more of it, though. :P
