Feels like I had a breakthrough session in the pool today. I really felt as though I was skimming through the water. Coach told me everything looked really good today, too. I need to build on this.

Long run this evening. Family is out of town for spring break, but are coming back late tonight.

Pretty good run tonight...too bad it's not going to be 50 degrees during Texas.

One month until Texas. Feeling pretty good about fitness, nutrition, and strategy at this point. I do want to practice my swim pacing a bit, and I do want at least 2 more long rides followed by short runs. For running, I want to, at minimum, match last month's miles, but the goal is still to reach 180.

One thing that I am kind of worried about is the weather. I have not had one single hot training day. I think max temp has been around 75 degrees, which falls short about 15-20 degrees off expected temps at Texas. It is what it is, though.

Boy, time does pass fast.

Swam during lunch, then brick after work.

Did an FTP test as my bike. Worked hard. Used tri bike and set a new FTP of slightly higher than 220. Kind of where I guessed it'd be.

Legs are slightly sore, but feel good. Going to swim at lunch, then run after work.

IMTX is only a month away.

Well, crap. The weather turned foul and it's now raining/storming. Bah...

Hard ride today on a hilly course. Pushed it a bit to see how the legs would feel afterwards, for a short run. Goal was to average 185 watts and close to 140 bpm. That power will be close to 10% higher than I plan to average at TX.

For the first mile, the legs felt a little beat up, but they loosened up great and I could really tell they were ready to run.

I accidentally bumped my garmin and stopped it somewhere out around mile 65. Mileage is closer to 80. Rain came down around mile 65...Backed off effort at that point.

ETA: Used UCAN for this ride. 1.25 servings per dose, plus about 8 grams of protein. Need to up protein dose by 2-4 grams per flask, as I was hungry towards the end of the workout. Energy was fine, though.

Travel day.

Looooooooong day.
