Countdown to the Half
July 30
Must have a growing child in the house. He woke up before the alarm went off. I still want to do the run outside so I'll do some biking tonight in the gym and hopefully run in the morning.

Rest Day.....Much needed rest day
July 27
The day started at 5am with the gym lights in the church coming to life. Everyone groaned and started to move about getting ready for the day. After a hot breakfast including egg casserole and bagels everyone huddled up for a prayer and blessing before starting the 85 mile day. Heading out of Bloomington was great. Again no stopping for the intersections as the State Police had them blocked.
It was overcast for most of the day until the last 45 miles or so. Even with the cloud cover it was hot and humid. I drank enough Gatorade for a football team. I was rudely reminded that the hills around Muncie aren't really hills compared to southern Indiana standards. One hill in particular near Madison went from flat road to what seemed straight up with only a turn to hide the difference in the two.
With about 8 miles left the sky opened up and it was like someone had turned on a firehouse. By the time we got into Madison and to the church everyone was soaked to the bone and ready to get dry. I felt especially bad for the Troopers on the motors. They didn't get a chance to put on any rain gear and were just as wet as us. I had a great and tiring time and look forward to doing it again sometime. I only rode the first 2 of 13 days.

First day of the COPS (concerns of police survivors) ride. Had a great day going from Indy to Bloomington. Group ride with a couple of stops to honor those whohave been killed in the line of duty. Tomorrow is from Bloomington to Madison. It was amazing to ride through downtown Indy and everywhere without stopping. Metro and ISP had all the intersections blocked and we had an escort the entire time. A nice amount of hills towards Bloomington. I felt great after the 58 miles and am looking forward to Tuesday.
