Tri-ing to be good

Ok run during work since it is such a light day. Back hurts from yesterday's surgery. I was totally contorted for that. I am sure that impacted how I did. I didn't want to go to hard today since I have a long run tomorrow.
I was not into doing this bike. I didn't want to just do a spinervals. Randy is good at giving me intervals, so I did a bunch of different intervals while watching The Rel Housewives of OC.

I got done just in time to get my kids. I was not feeling great. My right shin and both knees are not please with me, but I have a month left of hard training and I hope things hold up.
Spinervals 9.0 Have Mercy. OMG my legs are toast. My knees hurt too. I iced those when I finished stretching. I am definitely weaker than last year on the bike. I hope I can build some back. Lots of time with higher HR here. Pushing the ceiling up.

Good day cycling. I got this done with a good effort. Then right off the bike and out for a quality brick run.
I decided to do a short brick run after the long bike. I almost don't believe the speed on here, but the GPS looks reasonable. I felt like poo for only a few minutes, then found my groove. I am so very happy with this.

Lots of workouts today. This was another good workout.
I killed my workouts today. Actually, I killed them this whole week. Good for me. I hope this trend keeps up. I have another build week with a sprint race over the weekend and then a recovery week. After that it's 2 more tough weeks and then the taper begins. I want to give this race my all, since it is likely my last long course.

Fatso broke the bike seat. My bike seat tilted back the other night when I was doing I high cadence set. I tightened it and thought all was ok. Then it slipped again 25 min into this ride. I tightened it again. Then it slipped again. I thought it might be the grooves on the inside of the seatpost. So I decided to bail on this 2:45 bike and go to the bike shop. I was right and I now have a new carbon seatpost.
Good swim for me although annoyed by people joining my lane unannounced. Swimsense froze at the end and lost the last 3 laps.

So I just came home from the bike shop with 3 new road bikes for the girls. They are so excited. One of them actually has to go back. We bought her a 48 (which is what I ride). When they went to fit her on it, it was too small. They let her take it home, but next week we will swap it for a 51. The other 2 are on 44's. You would never know they were triplets. Olivia's legs are so long. The guy fitting her said her legs were longer than his. The ride home was a challenge, but we all made it.
I was planning on swimming today, but I have headeache. I think I will take my off day.

My workouts lately have been solid. I will never be really fast at anything. Overall, my biking is still weaker than last year, but I feel much more well rounded than I did at this point last year. My HIM last year was a week later in June and my longest run was in February. Then I was injured and backed off running. My longest run after that was the 10k at St. A's in April. My pace at Patriot was 13:34 for the 1/2 mary. I am doing much better. My right knee hurts a little, but I can deal.
Tomorrow is a much deserved off day and then I have a sprint on Saturday. I think the water temp is about 51 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrr. Makes me want to do the duathlon instead.
