WU: 500
MS: 200 paddles
5x250 tempo on 20" (2:00/100, 2:02/100, 2:03/100, 2:02/100, 2:03/100)
2x100 threshold (1:52, 1:56)

not the most inspired swim. I was not very motivated today. I wanted to sleep.

Bike
  • 2h 17m 01s
  • 29.80 miles
  • 13.05 Mi/hr

Did Coggins Sweet Spot workout while watching TV. I was not really up for this. For the 2x20 min sets I was supposed be at 90% of FTP and I couldn't really do that. It just was not happening. This was more "time in the saddle."

I slept for 11 hours last night.  I really needed it since I got 7 hrs total the 2 nights before.  I babysat for my sis this morning and she ran 2 hrs over when she said she would be back.  I just got the swim done and I really have to get in a long bike still.  I hope I get something like that done.  I have had a really strong week.  I think I am just ready for recovery, but that starts tomorrow.

Run #1
  • 12m 49s
  • 1.32 miles
  • 09m 43s /Mi

This was nice and fast for me. I am pleased. I am sorry the swim was canceled although 50 degree water was going to be shocking.

Run #2
  • 31m 49s
  • 3.14 miles
  • 10m 07s /Mi

5k of the race. This is the fastest I have ever done a 5k. I am pleased.

Bike
  • 46m 51s
  • 11.49 miles
  • 14.71 Mi/hr

Average speed sucked due to hills, but power was nice as was HR. I put out a good effort. Interesting how the power numbers are better on the road compared to the trainer. I am going to have to figure out my power goals for Eagleman soon.

Run #3
  • 30m 16s
  • 3.10 miles
  • 09m 45s /Mi

Hells Yeah!!! Fastest 5K to date! Way to top off this day. 3rd run of the day since I had the duathlon earlier. This was the biggest run week I have ever had, and the most volume of my training for the HIM. I just missed the 30 min 5k, but it now seems in reach. I warmed up for 1 mile and then did 1.5 miles 9:30 pace. I was gonna go slower for tha last .5, but it was still fast. I am very pleased.

This has been a crazy week.  I have been really good at getting my workouts in.  It is also my most volume run week of my training.  I just did the last run of the week and I feel stronger than ever running.  That's not to say that there is no pain.  My knees and shins hurt.  That femur pain is totally  thing of the past now.

I have to find time to do my long bike tomorrow and swim.  Since I biked in the race today, I may cut it short.  Yeajackson and I planned on doing a nice ride in the country after the race, but the weather was blah, so we bagged it.

May 4

Off day.  Well earned.

May 3

Run
  • 1h 56m 16s
  • 11.13 miles
  • 10m 27s /Mi

I am super please with this. Ship it! I felt pretty good. GPS took a while to pick up due to the cloud cover.

Swim
  • 29m 07s
  • 1450.13 yards
  • 02m /100 yards

Really nice VO2 max sets.

WU: 500
MS: 200 paddles
3x100 VO2 max on 60" rest (1:47, 1:46, 1:46)
2x100 threshold (1:52, 1:54)
CD: 250

My workouts lately have been solid.  I will never be really fast at anything. Overall, my biking is still weaker than last year, but I feel much more well rounded than I did at this point last year.  My HIM last year was a week later in June and my longest run was in February.  Then I was injured and backed off running.  My longest run after that was the 10k at St. A's in April.  My pace at Patriot was 13:34 for the 1/2 mary.  I am doing much better.  My right knee hurts a little, but I can deal.

Tomorrow is a much deserved off day and then I have a sprint on Saturday.  I think the water temp is about 51 degrees.  Brrrrrrrrrr.  Makes me want to do the duathlon instead.

May 2

Run
  • 1h 00m 36s
  • 5.69 miles
  • 10m 39s /Mi

Ok run during work since it is such a light day. Back hurts from yesterday's surgery. I was totally contorted for that. I am sure that impacted how I did. I didn't want to go to hard today since I have a long run tomorrow.

Bike
  • 1h 50m 01s
  • 24.20 miles
  • 13.20 Mi/hr

I was not into doing this bike. I didn't want to just do a spinervals. Randy is good at giving me intervals, so I did a bunch of different intervals while watching The Rel Housewives of OC.

May 1

Swim
  • 40m 40s
  • 1900.00 yards
  • 02m 08s /100 yards

Straight swim. I didn't work that hard. Pace was just okay.

April 30

Run
  • 1h 31m 54s
  • 8.54 miles
  • 10m 45s /Mi

I got done just in time to get my kids. I was not feeling great. My right shin and both knees are not please with me, but I have a month left of hard training and I hope things hold up.

Bike
  • 1h 13m 05s
  • 16.98 miles
  • 13.94 Mi/hr

Spinervals 9.0 Have Mercy. OMG my legs are toast. My knees hurt too. I iced those when I finished stretching. I am definitely weaker than last year on the bike. I hope I can build some back. Lots of time with higher HR here. Pushing the ceiling up.

Busy, busy day...as usual.  Kids, work, run, more kids, food shopping, make dinner, get kids on trainer, kids to bed, me on trainer, shower, upload, sleep. I hope I can walk tomorrow.
