Time to Find the Big Girl Panties..and Suck it up!

Iced/heat the back/hip last night. Pain is across lower back and down into my right hip (or at least that is how it feels) so I am going to try to stretch a bit more in the hip area, ice and heat when I can (last night was more than 10min/10min each as I fell asleep for a bit in each set) :) and I also started taking some Naproxen 2x a day to see if it can help.
Can feel it yet this am. Called the dr yesterday and they can't get me in until the 17th of June. Gotta love base doctors. They did tell me they could refer me off base and I could pay my $12 and then have the dr visit on base in a month as a follow up. If it doesn't get better soon - I will have to do that. It didn't hurt Mon when I ran - mostly I feel it when I sit for long periods of time.
Need to run - got races Registered for which feels really good. Need to get better so I can do those things.

bike and strength on tap today. First - grocery store.
Nothing got done. Got off work at 9pm and just didn't feel like doing it then. Need to do morning workouts otherwise there is a good chance they won't get done. :(

Found another mud run to do next Sunday - it benefits the local animal shelter, and a couple animal rescues so how can I not. It is also within 30 min of home. And it has a water slide obstacle - HOW FUN!!!
Off Day today - going to the neighbors for some food and beverages later.
Gun time is listed for yesterday at 1:03. Not sure what happened to chip time since we all had chips but I know last year the chips weren't working. This year I doubt they were since they had a guy at the end manually entering your number as you read it off to him. Not sure how accurate it was but I will take that. ![]()

Lucy weighed in at a healthy 17.2 lbs today - can't believe she is that big for 10 weeks old. She was 9.6 3 weeks ago. :) Then went to get packets with my friend Jen who is doing the race and off to wal-mart to get odds and ends where we found the most comical M&M boxers.. We are wearing Matching red ones and our race shirts since it is the RED MUD RUN. I have to admit her BIL is being a dick - my friend Jean and I did the mud run last week in 1:03 - we walked most of it - she isn't one to exercise so I was proud of her just to get out and do and we smiled and laughed about the hysterics of the day for hours that night at dinner. So I told Jen that and used it as an example of how I didn't care about time - out to have fun. Chris is like - an HOUR for a 5k - wow slow. She was like but they had 15 obstacles - and he said still that is REALLY slow.. I was like ok if we were out for time we wouldn't have taken cameras for pictures along the way, slid down the muddy slope on our butt and would have cared how fast we were going. We didn't - we cared more about the laughs, giggles and smiles along the way...
So Jen is extremely nervous about tomorrow - so I figured the boxers would be a fun idea. She said we can wear our race shirts we got - and when she was telling her sister this Chris was like you CAN'T do that - you can't wear that shirt until AFTER you completed the race. So I am getting ready to leave and she is like we can't wear it tomorrow - I was like WHATEVER, don't listen to him. We are fine. Relax - and have fun tomorrow. #1 is to have FUN. I would understand worrying about a marathon time or half marathon time or something if you were trying to BQ - but come on - we are doing a 5K Mud Run - I look at these as fun - and especially again - Jen isn't a big workout person - it will be good to get out in the SUN and have FUN.
Lucy's 10 week vet appt for her 2nd round of shots, and packet pickup for Sunday's Red Mud Run. Can't believe Lucy has been home 3 weeks already.
Got this email from the RD of the run - I couldn't help but laugh:
The short course for children under 12 and anyone else who does not want to do all the 5 km course will start at 1 PM. The full 5 km course will start at 2 PM. We use the kids to test for alligators, snakes, quicksand, etc. If most of them get through the course then we start the adults at 2 PM. Mudders will start in groups of 25-30 with 5 mins between starts. If you want to race with your friends (or enemies) just show up at the start together. Your time will start when you step off the timing mats. We used this method last year and all went well. Okay, we lost a couple of people, but we call that thinning the herd. Be sure to wear nice clothes. Awards for best dressed. See you Sunday!
