Mom and dad came yesterday for a couple days. They have been in town for dad's reunion but came to stay with us yesterday. Last night dad wanted Red Lobster so we went - NOT a good night of eating but we hadn't had anything since Breakfast. Today was a rest day on the plan (I get M and F as rest days for right now) but I walked some with mom - did errands this am.

Got out when it was cool - need to make this a habit. Didn't feel bad until about 3/4 of the way through the last lap and then I had a bit over that lap to go (3 laps = 2.0 miles)

I started following a 10K plan for a couple weeks to work up to where the start of the Half Marathon plan starts. Today the plan calls for a rest day. I will do some stretching but other than that I will follow plan and rest.  My body is a bit sore/tired (probably from the week off) so it could probably use it before I run again tomorrow.

Ran stopped so I got out to run this afternoon. It didn't feel too bad but I was sweating pretty good when I was done.  20 oz of water when I was done. Took about 30 seconds of stretching between the second and third laps and the third lap felt better but was still not going any further when I got done. Felt slow tonight but I will take that time. :)

77*, 59% humidity, Winds ESE @ 3mph (could have used a bit more of this) :)


Got a run on tap today but it is still raining. Will see what happens.

have a bike on the schedule today. My mom and dad get into town today. Dad is a Vietnam Vet and his original squadron get together around the country each year for a reunion. This year it is here in OKC. Last time they were in OKC was the summer before we got here... They are not staying with us but instead are staying at the hotel with the rest of the guys thru Sunday but they were hoping to stay a few extra days. Not sure what is going on since no firm plans have been made.

Stormy today - it is good - we need it - hasn't rained in about a week and I didn't want to water the garden :) So lazy with the garden this year (think it is due to the lovely field mice that have ate 10 of my 12 tomato plants, 2 of my jap plants and all 5 of my zucchini plants - ok they don't each the plants they eat the roots which cause the plants to die) UGH!

Time is an estimate - ran "naked". No MP3 and no Garmin.  Garmin didn't want to sync up with the satellites and the storms were rolling in so instead of doing intervals with my garmin just went and ran 2. Legs were tired/stiff but finally felt like they loosened up around the 1.5 mile mark.. Felt whooped at the end but that is what I get for taking a week or so off to have fun. :) Working way up to 3 miles hopefully just in case I feel like running the 5K middle of next month.  Taking another long trip the week of 4th of July so while I would hope to run that week not sure. Will be up close to Branson..
