Trail + hills + altitude equals OMG that was fun

Strength
  • 15m

6 rounds of 10 push ups, 10 sit ups, 10 squats. Was suppose to add 200m runs but instead I did my run run. No strength training equipment up here yet so winging it with some body weight CF workouts that my cousin is feeding me

Better sleep last night.  Not perfect and still up too early but better

Part side walk, part trail, and part great big hill. Good little run, especially the trail part. I ran up the hill for 5 mins and still did not reach the top so good place for hill repeats. Took about 10 mins to get there so easy warm up

Ah, look, a new clean slate.  I was going to make a goal of running 100 miles but then I looked at my past months and realized that was probably a dumb goal (well, unless I like injury I suppose).  So I will set it for 80 for the month.  I think that is completely reachable yet still requires me to be accountable every week.

Slept like shit again.  Woke up at 2am.  Took forever to get back to sleep but apparently I did.

We have a pest problem.  Not surprising given that we live in a forest but still a problem.  There seems to be a crack in the foundation that the ants used to get their way into the house.  When I saw the large pile of ants outside I knew eventually we'd have an issue.  So I sprayed the crap out of the foundation yesterday.  That seems to have helped for now.  I think I will setup pest control here though cause they also have centipedes.  Oh, and of course scorpions.  Fun times.

So I think I will look for endurance DU's to do while I live here since swimming is out.  Pacific Crest has one.  They run a DU the same time the half goes.  When the swimmers start they start the DU in a time trial (no lead in run).  I could totally do that course again, it was my favorite.  I am sure there are others like that out in the country.  I could almost sign up for any in Tempe and as of late they have all turned into DU's.  lol

Just a short easy run around the hood, checking it out. Body is not 100% happy, probably from the super long day yesterday but it felt good to get out on the run

Tina took me on a little tour of Payson last night.  It was little cause well, Payson is little.  lol  I think once I get a routine going I will be fine.  I am about mile to the start of a trail run so I'll be checking that out soon.  The people that lived in this house before us clearly did not mind filth.  So lots of focus on cleaning.  We spent a lot of time cleaning the kitchen yesterday and it is still filthy.  Lets not go into the urine smell in the master bedroom.  Right now we are set up in the spare room and the carpet in the master is going to be replaced.  The house is cute though and the neighborhood is super quiet.

Unsure if I will workout today.  I might but I have a lot of house stuff to do.

Today I head up to Payson.  Long drive so clearly I wake up super early.  That makes sense right?  Pups are a bit stressed.  Most all the house is packed but then I gave up.  We can finish it quickly on Friday when we come home to clean and wait for the movers on Sat.  I also have to give somewhat a cleaning to the house cause there are people coming to look at it today and Monday.  It won't be fully cleaned but I need to make sure it doesn't look gross of course.

I am debating going back to vegan.  It was the only way I ate that I never got any cravings.  Not even for chocolate.  It was crazy.  I think getting Tina to stop eating cheese again will be hard but that just proves a point IMO.  She's still vegetarian so from a making meal perspective it is easier if we do the same thing.  I just want to make sure I don't eat processed foods.  I really have leaned to hate all those pre-made vegetarian foods that are suppose to be a substitute for the meat thing.

Ride was good. I don't think I pushed too hard, I think my run ruined my run, not this ride

Run #1
  • 31m 31s
  • 3.10 miles
  • 10m 10s /Mi

um, yeah, that sucked. I can do better then that (and did last year). Oh well. It is inline with going out too hard on the first run for my 5k fitness though

First leg of the DU. Too fast for my current fitness

Suppose I should mention my transitions times as odds are I will lose the piece of paper.  T1: 1:11 T2: 1:04  Overall Time 2:11:26  Place 346 Div Place (40-44) 21 Sex place: 97

My scale is so funny with the body fat.  I am no where near high 20's but whatever, it is all about the trends right?  If I switch it to male, which is probably more accurate since for a female I tend to be fairly muscular it is 18, which is more in line with reality.  I might just start doing what my cousin suggests and just take bf measurements.  That is what they do with their swimmers.  6 measurements, and track the average, they don't bother with the %bf.  I have the tools to do so.

I am racing today.  I hope to beat my time from last year but I am weighting 5 pounds more.  Not sure it will happen as I had a pretty darn good set of runs last time.  We shall see.  When I am done I am dropping my bike off for maintenance and I'll just leave it with them for the week.  Then pack, load up the truck and try and get some shuteye before heading up to Payson.

The dude trying to sell my house texted back.  One of the folks looking gave me his number.  It's not a real number, can't do much back with it.  So I called him a fuck face when I texted again.  Was that bad?

So my house is on the market to be rented and I am going through an agency.  It is listed for over $1000/month but some jack a** put an ad on Craigslist for this house for $650 and is sending folks over to walk around and check the place out.  They are pretended to be in CO.  So I am sitting here and people are just tromping through my yard.  I don't scare easily but honestly this scared me so I called the police.  Not much they can do but they took a report.  My guess is the person is hoping to get a sucker to send him the money without the keys in hand or even walking through the place, not realizing I was actually still in the house.  Anyways, stress I did not need right now.

Easy on the way out and pushed the pace a bit on the way back. Few sprints. Too hot for Jenny it would seem. Lame dog with all that fur and stuff. Jenny will really like Payson and the nice cool air but still lots of sunshine

I had to save a baby dove this morning.  Fell out of it's nest so I got the ladder and put it back in.  Perhaps if the mom had built a nest for two?  Anyways, safe from the dogs now at least, until it falls out again.  poor little thing.  We have two other nesting doves in the yard.

So I moved the double bed onto the queen frame last night.  It looks so sad all small there.  Short too.  I knew it was weird my feet kept hanging out the bottom.  Anyways, it made the dogs happy so that is all that counts.

I was going to take today as a rest day but since I am driving all the way to Oro Valley tomorrow I need to start work early so I'll take tomorrow off instead.  Just a short easy run, might even take Jenny.  Opps, it is raining.  Now I am going to have to think long and hard about running.  Yes, I can run in the rain.  But after doing it daily for years it's nice to not have to do that anymore
