wow, I really slowed on the way back. Granted it is uphill but still shouldn't have slowed that much. Then again my run has gone to shit so I have to build back up.

I did see a snake on my run though. On the side of the road. Frigging forest everywhere and he choose the road to have a nap on. He's going to be surprised when it warms up and he wakes up to someone's tire

I took Breyer out instead of Jenny since I started so early and odds are there would be nothing out there to get Breyer in trouble. I don't think he expected the workout to be so boring. He'll forget this the next time he is stuck in the house and barking cause he thinks he is missing something though

Just the pets and I again for the long weekend.  Kind of use to being alone for the long weekends.  Tina is heading home to look after her family for a week.  I have to work Sat at a minimum and then I see lots of tree crashing as I go out mountain biking.

My truck is a piece of shit.  Keeps throwing codes and once wouldn't start.  Unsure what it is but odds are it is electrical.  So now I have my bike in the back of my truck in case it will not start again.  I need to find the root cause or trade the fucker in though.  Actually, the truck has been good until this year.  Still, I now deem it a piece of shit.

So I am laying on my belly at the dr's office while he looks at my ribs and he's like "What did you do to your leg?" as he looks at the massive bruise on my calf from wiping out on my mountain bike.  lol

There are a few hills here in Payson. I could have kept going but this darn work thing tends to interfere. I can't wait until the folks stop coming here for the winter so I can finish the road out on the weekend. There is no shoulder and visitors here drive super crazy so I stay off the road on the weekends

So apparently I am old.  The dr confirmed it.  He thinks my foot issue is arthritis showing up from overuse and an old injury.  Basically ice and supportive shoes (he said that does not include flip flops), and let pain be my dictator.  I could go to a podiatrist to help get some comfort but I think I'll see how it goes on my own.  I know I can run periodically without pain so I'll see how I can balance running and biking for now.

The ribs should heal soon he thinks.  Does look like I popped one but he said the normal healing duration is about 2 weeks and I am just at about that now and as of Sun afternoon it was starting to feel better so I have hope that maybe by the end of the week it will just be a dull roar.

And I got more meds for malaria.  It is super expensive medicine but Tina gets it for $5.  So I am using hers, but our friends have no drug plans so I got a prescription and I only pay $50 (compared to over $200) so between some extra's Tina has and this one we covered both of them so that is good.

Lateral squats suck. No, really, they do

To the dr's this afternoon.  I have a feeling I am in for a long wait based on Tina's experience but the dude spent 45 minutes with her so at least he spends time with patients.

Today's mountain bike ride is brought to you by crashes and trees that won't move. Fun ride but I am going to feel this one later. Oh yeah, mountain biking with sore ribs...not a good idea

Hiking in the White Mountains at 9400ft. The hike we wanted to do we actually couldn't get to but this one was awesome. Not Arizona like at all. We followed a brook the whole way, meadows, trees, wild flowers. Pretty much had it all. Very pretty hike.

Camping was interesting.  We drove there in a complete downpour.  When we got there though it was not raining so we quick set up tent and made supper.  After supper we were just sitting there and I heard noise.  I heard that noise once before out on a run.  RAIN.  Came in fast.  Quick threw chairs and stuff in the truck and hopped into the tent.  Jenny was a little hesitant to get into the tent and totally took over my sleeping bag.  Took forever to get her off it.  Once she did that though she settled down for the night and did well.  It was chilly in the White Mountains, which is good for hiking, not great for camping. ;)  There were only one other campsite occupied while we were there so we just let Jenny roam free...until we saw some deer in the morning that is.  I think she liked that.
