Just got my *NEW* Maxam Triathlon 105 tonight and HAD to take her up and down the town a couple of times before retiring for the night. She feels good. She feels FAST!

Holy CR@P, it's windy out there... again! This has got to be the windiest April in history!
Ran 5k nice and easy out, becase I knew coming home was going to be hell, and I sure wasn't disapointed. Yeesh!
At least the snow from this morning had turned into rain at this point. On the way back, I'd say I was bent forward at about 65 degrees just to keep forward momementum. Needless to say, my easy 10k run turned into what amounted to a very tough hills workout. Oh well, didn't kill me, must have made me stronger. All I know is that the shower afterwards turned into my favorite place on earth.

Day 1 of taper week.

Update! Update! New Purchase Alert!

Ok, not sure where this came from exactly, but I went out and bought a bike tonight!

Tri bike, which I didn't think I was going to go with, but I *really* liked the way this felt under me.
It's a Maxam Triathlon 105 bike, with Shimano 105 component set, aluminum frame that's really quite light, and a computer that comes equipped with a HRM and strap, all for the low low price of $225 Cdn. It's about 10 years old, and used to be ridden by some hotshot manitoban triathlete. I'm so excited I could pee. I'm going riding right now!

Midnight run. Moon was SO bright out there tonight, it may have well been noon.
Run felt pretty good once I got rolling, but I had a hard time finding my cadence at the start. Ran 5 miles in 41:26 (8:17min/mile).
The other 15 minutes were this morning with Jackson in the jogging stroller. Went about a mile and a 1/2 with him.

I only added this to sneak in a funny quip. I cranked up the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and was rocking out with Jacks this afternoon. I was going to put my socks on when a good song came on and we had to dance. I started grooving and JAckson starts yelling: 'Daddy Sucks! Daddy Sucks!' Well, I was quite crushed until I realized he was actually pointing at daddy's SOCKS, not making a statement about my stellar dance moves. Whew!

What an awesome morning. The ladies were up and out at the crack of dawn, so it was just me and my boy, kicking it, old school this morning.
Started off by strapping Jackson onto the bike and taking him out for his first bike ride ever. He took a little settling while trying to put him into the contraption, but once we got riding, he loved it! We just toured around the neighbourhood for a while, wheeled into the park and around the campground. Jackson saw a birdy, and lots of puppies, and a fire (HOT, daddy!), and just enjoyed the bi-cy-sickle ride.
Went home and played with his tractors and trucks in the front yard, and I even got to sit in a lawn chair in the sun and read my paper. Don't remember the last time I got to do that! The we packed him into the jogging stroller to go and return a movie, then over to the hardware store for some more recycling bags. Now, he's just bagged himself and is down for a nap. Me, I'm all wound up again. Great start to my day.

It's Morgan's bday today, so when the ladies get home, we'll be doing some bday festivities. So I guess I'd better get off my ass now and get cleaning up the house.

Feet still feeling pretty good in my new shoes. My arch on my right foot was aching pretty good when I got home last night and a bit this morning, but the left was completely fine, and even the right pain is subsiding now. Hooray for new shoes!
