Ride done this am..Should put me over 400miles for the month..a new personal best. .It felt harder today than yesterday but my watts were lower..hmm..Either way im awfully slow..Leg is holding up ok by dialing down the intensity. NEW BIKE should be here tomorrow. Cant pick it up until Tuesday. Another killer wk at work. Still just the three of us. Im on call Monday, Wed...and the days are kind of brutal but only one more wk to go before JS gets back from his vaca.
Im trying to get over the guilty feeling i have about buying the bike. My bike endurance/strength is not really worthy of a carbon fiber bike. I feel bad enough when i get passed by someone 20yrs older on a schwinn letour....and i get reminded all the time its not the bike...its the engine. But this engine didnt seem to be working on road bike geometry. All the more motivation to spend even more time in the saddle on the new Orbea!!
At the inlaws..ended my ride here. Will upload PT files when I get home.

this is the bike portion of the brick. Cut a little short due to family obligations. SLOW in the beginning. Really aimed at keeping hr under 120...windy!!! OMG--so slow.. Then decided to liberalize it a little..but i know that i need to practice being disciplined. This is the only way ill finish this thing by not burning myself out on the bike. My base is not so strong. OVerall stayed out of aero..maybe total 40 minutes or so. Tried to spin most rolling hills. If hr started creeping up..backed off. Some tightness in leg..but nothing like last saturday. Was strainedd in aero but like i said.. did stay in it much.
2 1/2 bottles of infinit (300 cal/bottle)
2 gu gels
1 1/2 bottles of h20.
Felt relatively fresh at end of the ride...appropriatley so for my slow pace.
avg watts 148
brick run...had trouble actually running slow pace...legs want to be at 8:00 pace after the bike.
Ok...a little hiccup the last few days...combination of fatigue/work /family obligations led to a couple of missed workouts...Got in todays brick ....minus about 35 minutes of biking..On my old (and currently only) bike..Just took it easy...very little aero...spinned all the hills...hr although still higher than 120's still relativley low. Legs felt pretty fresh afterwards for the brick run..The bike hopefully comes in Monday now....I can get there after work on Tuesday.
