Today's 7mi run includes a speed workout, 1mi x 3 at 7:10's. Have a customer in the office tomorrow, I'll get to this this evening.
-----------------
Fuck me, it was bound to happen. Strained my left upper calf on the outside by the knee on the 2nd interval mile. Had no sign at all, nice warm-up, did the 1st mile interval in 7:00 and felt great. Did a 1/2mi recovery jog and was well into the 2nd when all of a sudden I felt a twitch, it went away then another twitch, then bam a spasm and had to stop at the 6 min mark. Couldn't stretch it out either, tried the straight leg and bent knee stretch and nothing, but when I touched it and tried to massage it was a knot. Worst part of it was that I did not bring my cell phone with me and I was 2.6 miles from home, I always bring my cell, too much of a rush to get going. Had to limp the whole way stopping every now and then to massage it, took mu 50 min to get home. Massaged and iced it down twice before going to bed.

Realized it is Friday and I'm way behind this week so went for an AM run. So much better than Wed run when I had the high HR. This time it was cooler and it stayed low here it should be.

Damn Peroneus Longus, wtf!
Got some feedback from a friend that is a massage therapist, the PL "is responsible for plantar flexion (pointing toes to the floor) and eversion of the foot (foot turned outward)." This makes sense now as the area I was running on is an old paved walkway around the park has a lot of undulations with a good side tilt and running hard on this stretch stressed the muscle. No more hard running on this stretch. Still tight but only in the immediate area cold packing it again at work and hoping I'm not out of commish too long.
