Tempo run today. Glad I got it done. Didn't feel too good at the start and was just going to run, but it got better. 1 mile warmup, pick up the speed in mile 2, I really pushed it in mile 3, cool down for mile 4.

Woke up to thunderstorms at 3 a.m., knew the swim was a no-go, so reset the alarm and caught some more sleep!  My afternoon run may turn into a trainer ride unless the rain backs down a little, it's POURING!!  Looks to be movie day in the hallway at school, yea!!

LATER:  It was a pretty slow hairy drive to school this morning, HEAVY rain, lots of wind, lightning all over the sky!  Now it's lunch time and it seems like it has passed and I'm not seeing anymore coming, so we will be back to normal this afternoon.  So it looks like I WILL get my run in this afternoon, yea!  Kati (my daughter) has found a new house to move to, they signed the papers last night and got keys so I'm going over to see it tonight I hope... it's been totally redone, granite countertops, huge backyard, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths!  She is very excited about it... but now they are moving this weekend, talk about quick!  She is still close by, probably a mile or so from my house...

Got it done! Took this nice and slow, keeping HR in zone 2 (under 155, success!). I wore shorts and a long sleeved shirt and as soon as I started wished I had worn a tech Tee... pushed up the sleeves and managed okay. Took a quick potty stop at home at 5 miles and swapped out the "low battery" iPod with my iPhone and did some Shot Bloks and water and headed right back out for the second loop. Really started getting tired around 7-7.5, but just kept chugging along, taking it easy on the hills and slowing down when the HR crept up. Overall, a good long run, I'm happy with it!

Walking cool down, probably could have done the whole 10 miles, but I was tired and backs of my legs were tight, so a walk was just the thing to bring it on home!

So I SHOULD do a bike today... but there is a severe wind advisory out there, and my legs are TIRED.  Have to run to the grocery store and run some errands, so will probably just take it easy today and get back on the bike on Tuesday....

WOW, what a difference a couple of days off makes! I'm really happy with this run and it felt GREAT. Legs were fresh and peppy! That North wind was chilly! Managed to negative split the last mile too, whoo hoo baby!

So I really wanted to get a bike in this afternoon, it's cool (55) but hardly any wind and sunny, but the day got away from me... twice I was ready to change and go... then hubby told me a pool part had broken and could I run out and get another?  Sure... since the pool is a lovely jade green/black color right now and we threw in an atomic bomb's worth of chemicals in it to clean it up!  Got it, came home to try and change for the second time, he has the dogs out on the front walk, "Are you coming?", "Um, yeah...."  Sigh.  Tomorrow is supposed to be beautifully sunny and warm and now I see a WIND ADVISORY???  WTF???!  Long run for sure, and can only HOPE I can fight the wind later in the afternoon.  Monday's ride is out for sure, I have a stupid class I have to take from 4:30-6:30 after school... but on a good note, I woke up no longer feeling like I was catching a cold!

Possibly another rest day... I am tired.... but it's supposed to get up past 80 today, so if it's not TOO windy, I may venture out on my bike.  Tomorrow's high is low 50's, so better to get riding today.... but we'll see, it IS Friday...

Yeah, ride never happened in spite of the beautiful temps... winds were 25+ mph, and I was just plain tired...
