So I think I need to leave my house just a little earlier. All the lanes were full when I got there, so I got in the "therapeutic pool", which is 3 lanes and quite a bit warmer than the main pool. No lane lines... there were 2 other people in there with me, each of us following a black stripe on the bottom, when along comes fat man and toothless white trash woman. He got in and stayed to the side or out of the way. SHE got in with her floatie dumbbells and stood right ON my lane line!! I had to swim around her, WTF?? And I was swimming the lane when she got in, it wasn't like I was resting so she didn't know I was using that lane! Unfortunately, I had to put up with her for about 20 minutes until FINALLY a lane opened up in the main pool.... Whew! Main pool is CHILLY after the other one, but I ended up with a nice 200!

So, like, ummmm, yeah... I almost talked myself out of this ride.. big WTF right? Look at the weather ^^^ freakin' perfect! I don't think I'm capable of NOT pushing myself if the legs are behaving and they were! Was going to add the other 4-5 miles onto this ride, but decided it would probably be smarter just to do the shortie ride. So so soooo glad I got out there, 2 mini ice cream bars for sure tonight!!! Did I REALLY just run a half marathon a few days ago?? I think jumping back into training has been the best thing for me, rather than babying my sore muscles!

Felt a whole lot better than I expected it to! Just took it easy and decided that when I got to the top of the first hill I would either take the 2 mile route or the 3 mile route depending on how it felt... obviously it was okay cuz I did the 3 miler!

I really wanted to ride outside this afternoon, but it sure was windy when I left school... so I checked the local weather when I got home and the winds were 30 mph!! Opted to do a nice easy spin on the trainer for 30 minutes... legs feel great, that might have been just the ticket!! I actually also wanted to burn some calories too so maybe I can have TWO 90 calorie Snickers ice cream bars tonight!!

A big bunch of NADA over here today.... so sore and fatigued. I'm sore ALL OVER!! So it is definitely a rest and recover kind of day, but I'm planning on a nice easy run tomorrow morning, we'll see how THAT feels! I'm actually most looking forward to a swim...

These are Garmin results... official results show the run was 13.1 , of course, and 1 second faster. (Which would put my pace at 10:28/mile). In any case, this was a PR by about 30 seconds over my December HM, and was 9 minutes faster than last year's Cowtown on the same course... so I thought I ran a good race! Kept pushing, not TOO hard, but enough that I wasn't holding back at all. Started feeling it around mile 8, made it up the hill from mile 9-10 and brought it on home. The finish line seemed to be further away than it was last year, so I TRIED to bring it home strong, but ended up pushing too early, but at least I ran through the finish. Took in an energy gel before the race and at mile 4 and mile 7.75, and opted not to take one at mile 12, in hindsight, I wish I would have. Walked through water stops, but very briefly, other than that, ran the whole thing. Beautiful chilly morning, bright sunshine, and I actually got a little warm here and there, but overall was dressed just right. Had a great time with Tammy Tucker and 1st time HMer, Connie!

Tammy and I after the race... after my feet totally cramped up... oh my it was hard getting up from here!

And another rest day... all ready to go to Cowtown!! Can't wait!! I'm excited to take a road trip with the girls and excited to run tomorrow! Went out to breakfast with hubby this morning and chowed down!! Figured I wouldn't eat again till dinner time, so why not?! Jut finished updating the GPS and am waiting for Tammy and Connie to come pick me up... hoping to find some cool stuff at the Expo too!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your inspires!! MMMers are the BESTEST!!

Ugh, very warm and muggy, sweaty run. Started feeling tired at about 2.75. Walked .1 miles at the beginning of mile 4 to let HR come down. Not great....
