Super long ride, not sure I was ready for this one! Tammy Tucker mapped it out, I wanted to get in a long one, so sure, why not? Of course, my laryngitis has turned into a cold, not awful, but not great either, and I did run 7 miles yesterday, so this was a good ride for me. Tammy was a BEAST on her new bike, she was ahead of me the whole time, looking fresh as a freakin' daisy! Luckily her hubby was feeling about like I was so we brought up the back of the pack. We met at 9:30 and it was chilly, but not a cloud in the sky. Headed out and the route was basically one big square. We turned at 8.25 miles and then spent the next 11 miles or so directly into the headwind, it was rough. Thank god the wind wasn't any worse! Right at about 20 miles, before we made the next right turn, we stopped at a little convenience store for a potty break and I got a Gatorade. Tammy brought me donuts so I chowed down on a big ol' cinnamon cruller, it was AWESOME!! (Thanks my friend, it was the BEST donut ever!). Made the right turn for another 9 miles or so, cross wind which was a little bit better, but still not ideal. Finally made the right turn so that the wind was at our backs, but took a little detour which added 2-3 miles to our route. My @$$ was ready to get OFF that damned bike! Tammy was still fresh as a freakin' daisy, WTF? We finally made it back to town, were at the last stoplight about 2 blocks from the cars, and Tammy's hubby's quads FROZE up... like he couldn't MOVE. There are the 3 of us in the middle of the turn lane and he can't move!! Luckily he was able to hobble over to the sidewalk and he sent us on ahead so Tammy could get the car, but they must have eased up because he pulled in right behind us. Beautiful ride, no huge suck ass hills, but lots of nice rollers, out in the countryside. At one point we pulled off to the side of the road, we're literally in the middle of nowhere, there is no shoulder so we are stopped on the white line on the edge of the road admiring the horses in the pic below, when along comes an old guy in a cowboy hat who stops to tell us, "Y'all need to get out of the road..." We just stared at him, I think all 3 of us were thinking, "Really?" Ill assume he was worried about our safety! All in all a good ride, but glad I am home!

Super nice run this morning, I'm really happy with it. Felt great, kept a good pace that felt just right, HR wasn't too too high. Wind was definitely noticable the first half of the run, but got much better at about 4.5 miles.

Ugh, very warm and muggy, sweaty run. Started feeling tired at about 2.75. Walked .1 miles at the beginning of mile 4 to let HR come down. Not great....

So I think I need to leave my house just a little earlier. All the lanes were full when I got there, so I got in the "therapeutic pool", which is 3 lanes and quite a bit warmer than the main pool. No lane lines... there were 2 other people in there with me, each of us following a black stripe on the bottom, when along comes fat man and toothless white trash woman. He got in and stayed to the side or out of the way. SHE got in with her floatie dumbbells and stood right ON my lane line!! I had to swim around her, WTF?? And I was swimming the lane when she got in, it wasn't like I was resting so she didn't know I was using that lane! Unfortunately, I had to put up with her for about 20 minutes until FINALLY a lane opened up in the main pool.... Whew! Main pool is CHILLY after the other one, but I ended up with a nice 200!

So, like, ummmm, yeah... I almost talked myself out of this ride.. big WTF right? Look at the weather ^^^ freakin' perfect! I don't think I'm capable of NOT pushing myself if the legs are behaving and they were! Was going to add the other 4-5 miles onto this ride, but decided it would probably be smarter just to do the shortie ride. So so soooo glad I got out there, 2 mini ice cream bars for sure tonight!!! Did I REALLY just run a half marathon a few days ago?? I think jumping back into training has been the best thing for me, rather than babying my sore muscles!

Felt a whole lot better than I expected it to! Just took it easy and decided that when I got to the top of the first hill I would either take the 2 mile route or the 3 mile route depending on how it felt... obviously it was okay cuz I did the 3 miler!

I really wanted to ride outside this afternoon, but it sure was windy when I left school... so I checked the local weather when I got home and the winds were 30 mph!! Opted to do a nice easy spin on the trainer for 30 minutes... legs feel great, that might have been just the ticket!! I actually also wanted to burn some calories too so maybe I can have TWO 90 calorie Snickers ice cream bars tonight!!

Did this run instead of my normal swim this morning due to still fighting off this cold. I anticipated suckage after yesterday's tiring long ride, but surprise, it was an AWESOME run!! Felt great, fastest one I've had in awhile, I just ran because it felt good, ignored HR, just ran. Did the neighborhood 5K route, forgot a turn and went an extra block, plus the 2 blocks from my house to the route, so a bit longer. Loved it....
