Super muggy, but not unbearable, guess maybe I've acclimated! Had some issues, right calf was a bit sore and left shin was muttering something about shin splint pain, but got through it and finished it up strong. Still struggling up the hills. Gotta work on not walking now!

Good ride, legs were definitely tired by the time I got home! I did this ride 100% in the big chain ring!!! Thought I might have to go down to the small one a couple of times, but I gutted it out.... new goal is to get avg pace for a training ride over 17 mph!

It's raining, it's pouring!!  And supposed to continue most of the day, I'm thinking this will be a sit at home and curl up with a good book kind of a day, maybe a nap later! 

Some very sad news in our area... a local cop was killed in the line of duty on Saturday night and he was the husband of a girl that taught kindergarten at my school a couple of years ago, we got friendly when we discovered we were both runners.  She has 2 kids the same ages as my grandkids.  I was all excited about my race when I saw the news on Facebook, my heart goes out to here, soooo damned sad, and all because of some POS crackhead who wasn't worth it.  The POS was shot dead, but that is no consolation....

REST DAY!!  And travel day...  We are heading out after lunch sometime to the race site.  Going to pick up our packets and drive the bike route and possibly the run route too.  'm really excited to finally be racing, not so sure about hubby.  I think he'll surprise himself because he expects to be DFL.  So this morning I gots to get all my stuff together and type up some directions for my daughter to come take care of the dogs overnight... thanks to all that have already wished me luck!!

Nice easy ride with a slower friend... took one of my favorite loops the OTHER way, nice change of pace! Very humid and sweaty, but a good ride. Almost done with training before the race, doing a very easy OWS tomorrow morning (I was invited, couldn't pass on the opportunity!), and a rest day on Saturday.
