Friday - September 20

Taking a rest day Foot in mouth... we are actually having RAIN here!!  Started late yesterday and 80% chance through the day, so I was afraid I'd get to the pool only to have it closed by lightning, so slept a little longer.  Hopefully we will be following our rainy day schedule today, MOVIE TIME!!!  I have been really good about not showing movies this year believe it or not, and hope to stay that way, but if rain forces me to??  Oh well!  Girlie nite tonight at Kati's and hopefully a nice long run tomorrow morning (rain is supposed to drop temps into the 60s) and a bike on Sunday, not too long for that one though, 20-25.

So my plan was to run 3 miles after school yesterday, and 3 miles this morning. And I was mentally prepared to do it, but I got in my car to go home yesterday and the temp gauge said 104! As I drove it dropped to 96 and my computer said it was 97 when I got home. I decided it would be INSANE to go for a run in that heat, and I would have ended up walking most of it, definitely NOT a quality workout, so opted to run 5 this morning instead. Ran it all, feel like my endurance is coming back finally. I am so happy to see some cooler temps in the forecast, low on Sunday morning of 62, break out the down jacket!!

I surely did not worry about speed today, just wanted to get the distance done. Felt pretty good although it was slow (for me!). I need to tweak my HM training plan so I can fit in 3 swims/week, but that's gonna mean running after school at least a couple of days a week, UGH!!!

Beautiful coolish morning to ride!! Did one of my favorite rides, a couple challenging hills to ride up, a couple AWESOME steep downhills to ride down and very scenic... Lots of dogs out, but almost all were behind fences and those that weren't were pretty mellow... passed a couple of Great Danes hanging out at the gate to their driveway, they didn't even look at us! Wind was negligible, just enough to keep the sweat off, ha ha! We saw horses, cows, squirrels, dogs, goats, pea hens and some road kill.
