Great ride with a couple of great ladies! This was a challenge for us, our longest ride to date was about 32 miles. It was overcast the whole time, and the wind picked up the second half of the ride and there was intermittent mist, but the route was pretty flat with a few moderate rollers near the end. Felt great to be out there! This was the Georgetown Red Poppy ride... I saw 3 red poppies and we saw a field of PURPLE poppies... still lots of bluebonnets out, but the grass is starting to take them over so not as pretty as a couple of weeks ago.

Taking a rest day today, yesterday my left calf was really sore and I ran anyways, and it was even more sore in the evening.  Not quite sure what caused it, but with a 50 mile bike coming up on Saturday, I'm hoping a day off will heal it up.  Not sure about tomorrow, still thinking about a swim, or a run....

Did some speedwork today, just a little bit but it felt good (and challenging). 1 mile warm up, 3 x 1/4 mile fast w/ 1/4 mile jogging recovery, 1/2 mile cool down home. The three 1/4 sprint paces were 9:07, 9:14, 9:25. Hoping to keep this up once a week and increase by one each week to build strength and speed.

Almost reset the alarm, but finally got out of bed. Glad I did, good run! My shoulders are feeling the swim yesterday, I won't go tomorrow, but might try again on Friday. Hoping to bike after school, I wanted to yesterday but there was a severe storm warning out, didn't want to risk getting caught in a hail storm!! And of course we got nuthin'...

Statewide testing for the next 3 days... which means no teaching for me, but monitoring hordes of kids watching a movie in the cafeteria for 45 minutes at a time.  UGH!
