Nope, the whole getting out of bed at 4:15 didn't happen... I am TIRED!  And with another 50 miler coming up on Saturday, I want to be ready to go, so sleep won out.  School is tough, testing is over, the weather is warm and the kids are in la la land, a land where children never stop talking.  I am ready for this year to be O.V.E.R. 

Opthalmology appointment this afternoon, I'm pretty worried about one eye.  I noticed my left eye was seeing all blurry through my glasses and went in a week ago to get a new prescription and one eye remained the same while the other has gotten TWICE as bad... 225 to 425 in about 2 months time, AND it is drooping, so of course I'm wondering if I had some kind of mini stroke or a brain tumor.  It's the eye I got the injection that gave me the zombie eye right before Halloween.  The optometrist said he didn't think I need to see my ophthalmologist, but I'd rather feel stupid for going in for nothing if it gives me peace of mind, OR that they find something that can be fixed.  I called yesterday for an appointment and how lucky that I got one TODAY and afterschool so I don't have to take time off!

Great ride with a couple of great ladies! This was a challenge for us, our longest ride to date was about 32 miles. It was overcast the whole time, and the wind picked up the second half of the ride and there was intermittent mist, but the route was pretty flat with a few moderate rollers near the end. Felt great to be out there! This was the Georgetown Red Poppy ride... I saw 3 red poppies and we saw a field of PURPLE poppies... still lots of bluebonnets out, but the grass is starting to take them over so not as pretty as a couple of weeks ago.

Taking a rest day today, yesterday my left calf was really sore and I ran anyways, and it was even more sore in the evening.  Not quite sure what caused it, but with a 50 mile bike coming up on Saturday, I'm hoping a day off will heal it up.  Not sure about tomorrow, still thinking about a swim, or a run....

Did some speedwork today, just a little bit but it felt good (and challenging). 1 mile warm up, 3 x 1/4 mile fast w/ 1/4 mile jogging recovery, 1/2 mile cool down home. The three 1/4 sprint paces were 9:07, 9:14, 9:25. Hoping to keep this up once a week and increase by one each week to build strength and speed.
