El Scorcho...

I encountered a snake this
morning sunning itself during my trail run at Pawnee Prairie Park...it's December, aren't those suckers supposed to be underground? It was a beautiful day to run at the park, but my glute still felt like there was a knot in it throughout the run. I need to keep massaging it. It felt nice to get off the pavement today. I'm sure I'll be hitting up the trails quite a bit over the next month or so in preparation for the Psycho Wyco 50K.

There was a pretty large group this morning at GoRun. Once again it was another great run with the Wackos. It's probably the best way to start the weekend. After running the original GoRun route Winston and Patrick led our group through some other neighborhoods and on the bouncy bridge at Swanson Park while looping our way back to GoRun. My glute was in a knot for the last 10 miles of the run and making last second left hand turns was quite a challange for me. I was happy with my distance today since I had originally only planned in doing 10 today. Now it's time to kick back and relax all day.

Prior to the run I was feeling really grumpy and angry at the bull$hit bureaucracy in the world, but was able to calm down as the run went on and take in the true beauty of God's handiwork. The skunk trail at SCP was very calming, but at the same time very active. While crossing the bridge I spotted a white tail deer. I stopped and we stared at each other for a bit and then it went about it's business and continue eating some clover then hopped off into the brush. While heading back the sunset was amazing. The sky was full of reds, pinks, oranges, blues, and purples. The sun had pretty much set by the time made it home, but it put me in a good frame of mind before yoga.
