I wasn't feeling that great this morning, and was still feeling sore from a day of soccer the other day, so when I set out I took things easy. My knee felt questionable during the first mile or so, but improved after that. When I got home I went out for an additional mile with Megan. It was decent day, minus the gusty south wind.

With track season over and this being the last week of school, I decided to get the mountain bike out this morning and commute to work. It was an ideal morning to ride with very little wind, cool temps, and an earlier rising sun. Since it's "Walk at Work Day" I'm going to try to get all my kids out to walk...and perhaps some soccer and/or frisbee too.
The bike commute back home went well this afternoon. I was dragging a little bit due to getting up early today to ride to work, and then playing soccer all day at work. Last day of school tomorrow!
Since today was "Walk at Work Day" I took my classes out to the football field / track for some soccer etc. Throughout the day (during my 5 english classes) I was able to get in over 11 miles (11.20) of running/walking while playing soccer with the kids (a little over 3 hours of play time). Since I was either barefoot or wearing my NB Minimus shoes, I got in a lot of foot strengthening.

I had a little soreness/tightness in my left hamstring and glute at the start of my run, but my knee felt great today. It appears that things are healing nicely and I can start building my miles up again. So thankful that summer is here.
