Good run for today, definitely better than Saturday when the humidity was so high. It was cool again and a nice reminder of the weather still to come. Warmed up better and went out slow, kept an even pace and the whole thing went OK. I can tell it's going to take a long time to really get back to my old running self after this injury, I must be patient!
Hope eveyone had a great weekend!

Wow! It was 62o F this morning! But, I am not allowed out to play until I finish my work. I have a large document to get done for my job, my deadline is right around the corner, so I need to get some major stuff out of the way and then maybe a bike ride later. The good thing is the weather will be cool every night this week so I should have lots of chances to cash in on some good cool morning runs.

Not so nice a run today. Cooler temps but the humidity said 96% when I left the house, I had to use my windshield wipers to get rid of the mist as I drove to the run site. But I ran, leg a bit sore from yesterday's bike speed workout. Need to do some good stretching today.

Short and fast (for me anyway)
PT was good today, Doc says she can feel only a little of the bad stuff left in the muscle. A very good thing. After my ride this morning I went to check my Garmin log to see what my top speed was on the bike today, it said 95.9 MPH! I don't even drive my car that fast! That Gu I had must have been extra potent!
Crazy, crazy week! Looks like I have some very good students for semester so that's a relief!
Didn't have a lot of time this morning and I needed a ride so I went for a fast and short trip. Well fast for me, and that's exactly what I want to change. Being faster isn't so much an ego thing or even a training thing, I like riding fast, and since there are no hills around I guess faster is pretty much where it's at. On the way out it's a low rise for 4 miles, so right off the bat I have to work hard, it's always my slowest segment. It's generally like that for the first 11 miles. So to pick up the pace I started in an easy pace and did 4 x 30" all out sprints, with 20" RI at tempo pace, then a longer rest at an easy pace and then back up to just lower than tempo to the 11 mile half-way point. On the way back it was tempo with some harder pushes all the way back. It was hard work, my leg felt fine and I feel satisfied.
PT Later.

Short run
OWS with friends
I was able to jump in on an OWS this evening with the group. It was very nice.
A short run this morning. My Doc and I decided that it would be best for me to work at 3 mile runs until I was completely pain free and then and only then could I increase mileage. Meanwhile the plan is to run, with a good walk before and after, and also work on my form and my pace. My last run was a 12 min mile, today I improved to a 11.2 min mile. I am happy to see the improvement. The pain is much less too, it feels more like stiffness rather than actual pain. There was a few moments during the run that I actually got that old, 'I could run forever' feeling, that was sweet!
There have been a few extra OWS opportunities this week that I have had to miss out de to work business and life in general. I still have plans for the early Friday swim in the dark, so that should be fun.
