April 10

Three in a row....nothing

April 9

Grand plans of a 4400 yd swim didn't materialize.  Stayed up until 3:30 am working....then got up at 6:45 to meet with a landscaper.  Trying to get anything in today other than sleep is a lost cause.

April 8

Stayed up late working and couldn't get up to do anything.  Stayed home with Beck for spring break.  Going to work late again tonight so likely tomorrow will be nothing.

Sport
  • Stationary Biking
  • 45m

Didn't bring shoes to get on a spinning bike and muscles too sore to lift weights so hopped on the stationary bike. Better than nothing.

I feel like I got hit by a truck yesterday.  My R ankle is in fact swollen and is sprained but not bad thankfully.  My R hamstring is sore from lifting weights yesterday (when am I going to learn?).  The joints in my shoulders and elbows are sore from push-ups.  Finally, my middle back is very sore....from stretching last night maybe??  Not to mention, as soon as I get to the office I spend the next two hours putting out overnight fires.

Canned the workout for this evening.  I know I'll be working tonight to finish that didn't get done today.

April 6

Run
  • 38m 40s
  • 5.00 miles
  • 07m 44s /Mi

Allen Parkway, door to door. Good run except that I nearly sprained my ankle twice. Second time I'm pretty sure I did, now just waiting for it to stiffen up while sitting at my desk. Ran out the bayou counter-clockwise and the wind was against me the whole time. I expect that will be my luck at LoneStar....swimming into the chop, cycling into the wind at 14 mph, running (err...walking) into the wind. That's all fine if I don't sprain my ankle. Didn't bring the HR monitor on the run though I'm sure it was up there.

Strength
  • 10m

Single leg squats on the sled (3 sets at 170 lbs) and single leg extensions on machine (2 sets of 70 & 90 lbs).

Sport
  • Stretching
  • 50m
Up until 1 am last night reading...unfortunately all work related.   No chance of gettin up at 5 am to run so I slept until 6:45.  Now it's 2:30 pm and I'm exhausted.  Going to Astros game tonight, which will be nice, but it may put the kibosh on any morning swim workout.  I'll try to be good...plus with ankle as sore as I expect it will be tomorrow morning, swimming may be the only thing I can do.

Hopefully, I'll end up with a new bike this week.....depending on whether a shipment comes in or not.

Planned my workouts for the week and trying to build up the run base and possibly get in an additional run after a Saturday morning ride.

Outdoor pool switches to long course in the next two weeks!!

Sport
  • Yoga
  • 1h 10m

6:00 am. Yoga routine focusing on hips/hamstrings. Additional stretching for 10 minutes.....and then the Easter bunny came...kids woke up. I love it!!

No chance to run this evening.  I'm wiped out.  I think yesterday's long day and late night killed me today.  I fell asleep on the couch for about 30 minutes this afternoon...with kids running around the house screaming.
