I had a nice ride and a cookout with my parents today. Long run in tap for tomorrow.

Note: Two fig newtons, two Clif bars, one Honey Stinger waffle, two laffy taffies that I grabbed at the Sky Mart convenience store.

Loganberry shoe break in, day 5.  Five hours.  I plan to start running in them next week.

For those of you with inquiring minds, "loganberry" is purple in Brooks-speak.  They came with purple laces and they were waaayyyy purple.  The lock laces are gray and tone the shoes down nicely.

I went to the arboretum (next door) at lunch today and took some pictures.  Butterflies and bees and spiders -- oh my!

Beaver Creek-Martha's Chapel-Carpenter Firestation

Nice ride. It was a lot less humid tonight than it was last night but a bit breezier. The lake was pretty choppy (for Jordan) when I was in that area.

I hate that the days are noticeably shorter.

Loganberry break in day 4 - four hours.  Yup, rockin' the running shoes with a skirt look for half a day!

It's not just about changing that flat any more

I gave Kevin one last chance to have me not sign up for another 140.6.  I figured that since I am to the really tired phase of training for B2B, I would get an honest answer.  He said to go for it.  What a guy!

Early morning walk with Emma. She is loving the temperature!

Two months until B2B!

Started to break in my new running shoes (Brooks Ghost 5 - loganberry).  Since getting the orthotics, it seems to be important to do an extended break in whereas before it was like, lace 'em up and go.  I'm wearing them for one hour today.

Took care of Hurricanes package and seat selection.  I wanted section 114 but Kevin wanted 113 so we went with 113 on the 114 side.

Nice run! Overall, I'm really pleased with this run. I love this route and that helps. The cooler temperatures really helped! It was 66 when I left home on the bike this morning and 74 when I was done with the run.

So... Today I wore "Desoto 2013 One Size Smaller" tri shorts.  And they fit very similarly to yesterday's "Desoto 2011 #2" shorts.

It sounds like the dude at Desoto did not know what the heck he was talking about when I asked if the sizing had changed.  Sadly, both Lisa and Yanti were caught by this issue as well.  I got the shorts (both pair) from SwimOutlet.  I wonder if I can talk them into taking them back or get Desoto to help me out some since they gave me bad information to work with.
