Nice ride! I was pretty pleased with how this went given where my training is after so much time off the bike this winter (running instead) and given the windy conditions today.

Weather report: 53 degrees with 15 mph wind to start. Up to 68 degrees by the end of the ride with the same wind. The only trees blooming right now are the Bartlett Pairs but something was getting in my eyes and making them itch.

Old 1-Shearon Harris

You know what they say about wind being hills in disguise? Well, I experienced some disguised hills today!

Overall a good ride. SO NICE that the SUN is back! And it's a full 20 degrees warmer today that yesterday which is nice.

2 x 8 minute intervals at TT pace with 5 minutes between. The first was more headwind, then the rest was definitely out of the wind and the second interval was cross/tail on Shearon Harris.

The Adventures of Kevin

In our last episode, Kevin resigned from IBM to take a position at MetLife.  His last day at IBM was March 14 and his first day at MetLife is March 24 leaving oen week to "detox" between the two jobs.

On Tuesday, Kevin went to Hendersonville NC to meet Phil M. and go mountain biking in Dupont State Forest.  (delayed one day due to changing forecasts.  shockingly, the new forecast was not any more accurate than the old one)

Day 1 - Phil breaks his bike (rear derailleur). Bike is repaired.

Day 2 -  Phil reports blacking out for a few minutes on the trail. Later he reports severe pain and thinks that he broke a rib (Kevin said kidney stones?). Quality time is spent at urgent care.  No Dx but it is determined that Phil can drive home but any more riding is out.

Day 3 is today. Who knows what surprises that will bring?
