I'm making a six hour drive to Warterloo, IA today for work. Hopefully I can get in a run once we get there, but that might be difficult as it appears there are no sidewalks or treadmills at  or around the hotel we're staying at. With any luck we can get there before sundown and I won't have to worry about running in the streets in the dark. Got nothing significant done except some walking to and from our hotel.

I was hoping to get out immediately after the trainer but rain was rolling through. I timed it perfectly to where the rain had just stopped and the wind calmed down. Two things: I ran faster as the run progressed and I was absolutely starving on this run. No dinner beforehand, only some nutrition on the bike earlier. Noted for future post-work bike run combos.

I really was not feeling this run. I was tired plus it was windy and overall pretty drab outside. Early on I thought I might just cut this run short because I was not enjoying this at all. Instead I pushed through and zoned out until the headwind eventually became a cross wind and then a tail wind on the last mile and a half.

The goal was to get out for this ride earlier, but after last night with friends I opted for a little more sleeping in. I rode up through Prairie Star and then three laps around the Honeywell facility. The second half of the ride I faced a good headwind as some rain got closer to town.

The plan was to do a few miles of running after this ride but I opted for a brick that included mowing my lawn before the real rain came through. Once I came inside I crashed on the couch for a nap which diminished my chances for a run today.

Chest is very sore from Tuesday. Definitely from not lifting as much as in the past and I can feel it, but training priorities are different right now.
