Hamstring were tight from all of the walking and car sitting, but my legs felt kinda fresh nonetheless. However, I wasn't moving very fast, at least in the beginning. It took about four miles before my legs could shake off the tightness, then I was able to really start going.

More Branson.

The wife and I both wanted to run while we were in Branson to get our final tuneup before Chicago next week, but it just didn't work out. Our primary limiter: the Branson landscape. Saying the terrain is hilly is an understatement. Maybe in a non-marathon taper week we would've just stepped out the door to go running, but we're trying to rest our legs, not overtly tire them out. Flat running space more than .25 miles long is rare. We thought about driving over to the Branson landing and running the 70.3 course, but that just became more of a hassle than anything based on where we were staying, and with making sure our one-year old would be OK with the rest of the family while we were away. Ultimately, we just decided to run once we got back from our trip.
