Sunday's weather was calling for an 80% of rain. So in planning my weekend I decided that I would rather run my long run today outside instead of tomorrow on the treadmill. I can at least tolerate a long bike on the trainer tomorrow.
This run wasn't easy. My legs felt heavy and were still tight from the track workout on Wednesday. It was also extremely humid, so that didn't help things.

Had to stay home from work today. Our daughter got sick at daycare yesterday, so she couldn't go back yet. During nap time I got some work done on the computer and then fit in this small little session. I knew the likelihood of getting a long workout was slim since nap time would be over soon, so I did a short one with lots of intensity.
KCM track workout, ladder set. First one of the year for me and I'm reminded of how painful these workouts can be - in a good way.

Another stressful day at work. I took out my frustrations on this run and in the process I may have come close to setting a 10k pr (although that time is long overdue to go down). Felt much better afterwards, although tonight I have to finally get our taxes done (procrastination much?) so that frustration may return.

I did this one on the trainer and I cut it way short of what I planned to do. My legs, and my body just feel flat out exhausted from the moment I woke up today. After the rain moved through this morning it cleared up, but the winds were howling with 40 mph wind gusts. So I decided to try the trainer and just last as long as I could. I knew right away that it wasn't going to be long, but I tried to make it for at least an hour and to put some quality into it instead of just junk miles/time. By time I did get done I was so uncomfortable in the saddle I couldn't stand it.
I'm hoping the rest of the week improves because I'm feeling run down right now.
