The Good Life

Biked from my house out to Heritage Park where I did a lap of the triathlon course and then biked home. My average was a little down from biking in and out of my neighborhood streets and whatnot. It was another great day to ride. The wind was a little annoying but it wasn't blowing all that hard. I was hoping that my new saddle I had ordered would be on my door step before today but it wasn't so I had to put up with some more saddle uncomfortableness during the last half hour to 45 minutes.

First morning run of 2012 and a makeup for not running yesterday. I really love running in the pre-dawn hour, but MAN does it take me forever to get going early in the morning. Also, something is still off and has been since Monday. My HR still seems elevated (it would help if I actually wore my HR strap) and I just can't get into a groove with my training. Me thinks it's my nutrition and what I've been sticking in my mouth, so I'm going to really focus on my eating habits the next few days.

Kind of an uncomfortable run. Right from the start my heart rate sky rocketed. My breathing and HR more elevated than I'd care for and it made this run feel like a lot of work instead of enjoyable. I stopped half way through to walk and calm things down, which helped but not completely.

After waiting out the rain I drove back out to Indian Creek trail for my long run. The temps were cool enough but it was very humid, which had me drenched with sweat. I was cruising along at some good even splits pretty easily until mile 9. At that point I stopped at a park water fountain, but then had trouble getting going again after that. I was getting tired and I was contemplating a walk break near the end, but then Eminem's 'Till I Collapse' came on. Of course after the first bit of lyrics go by it just seemed wrong to walk. Damit. Anyway, I toughed it out and finished a good overall run.
