The following equipment is nearing replacement:

KCM track workout. Ooph. The legs had no strength today to really push the hard sections of this workout. I'm looking forward to a few days of resting my running legs.

May 1

Run
  • 35m 04s
  • 5.03 miles
  • 06m 58s /Mi

A hot and windy run. That and it was tough. It was one of those runs where I wish I had someone to pace me slower.

Trainer. The first 15 minutes involved me hoping on and off the bike tinkering with the seat position and angle. In the end I'm not sure what I ended up with. To be continued.

I was originally planning on running, but I had too much lingering stiffness and aches that I decided to rest my running legs. Plus, my new bike saddle arrived and I wanted to test it out. First off I had too much fatigue in my legs to put in too much intensity. Regarding my saddle, a Cobb v-flow max, my first impression of it was great. But as time wore on the area around my sit bones became more uncomfortable. I tried some shifting around but no relief. I'm hoping that it's just that I've got to adapt to a new seat, or maybe it's some left over soreness from Saturday.

After waiting out the rain I drove back out to Indian Creek trail for my long run. The temps were cool enough but it was very humid, which had me drenched with sweat. I was cruising along at some good even splits pretty easily until mile 9. At that point I stopped at a park water fountain, but then had trouble getting going again after that. I was getting tired and I was contemplating a walk break near the end, but then Eminem's 'Till I Collapse' came on. Of course after the first bit of lyrics go by it just seemed wrong to walk. Damit. Anyway, I toughed it out and finished a good overall run.

Biked from my house out to Heritage Park where I did a lap of the triathlon course and then biked home. My average was a little down from biking in and out of my neighborhood streets and whatnot. It was another great day to ride. The wind was a little annoying but it wasn't blowing all that hard. I was hoping that my new saddle I had ordered would be on my door step before today but it wasn't so I had to put up with some more saddle uncomfortableness during the last half hour to 45 minutes.

Swim
  • 30m 55s
  • 2351.26 yards
  • 01m 19s /100 yards

An ok swim workout. Did a 1000 straight followed by some 100s. Kind of exhausted at the end of a long work week.

First morning run of 2012 and a makeup for not running yesterday. I really love running in the pre-dawn hour, but MAN does it take me forever to get going early in the morning. Also, something is still off and has been since Monday. My HR still seems elevated (it would help if I actually wore my HR strap) and I just can't get into a groove with my training. Me thinks it's my nutrition and what I've been sticking in my mouth, so I'm going to really focus on my eating habits the next few days.
