My arms/shoulders weren't feeling the greatest (i.e. tired). I didn't leave work as early as I would have liked so that translated to me not couldn't swim as long as I was planning as I had other evening plans, but no big deal.

Ran on Indian Creek to escape some of the wind the wide open spaces around my house fail to shield me from. I was feeling tired before I even started. The last two days have worn me out and I woke up feeling like I could use another 7 hours sleep. My pace was down, but at least it never fell off as the miles ticked by. There were a few rest breaks because of the fatigue and heat I was dealing with. Time to start winding down to a taper mode.

May 27

Sport
  • Walking
  • 2h 00m
Walking around with our daughter, niece, nephew, grandparents, et al at Jiggle Jam. Out in the sun for 4+ hours. We'll call this two but it was probably more.

Biked the KS 70.3 course. Before I could even get started I realized while I'm in T1 that I've overlooked a few small details. I first forgot my rubber bands to strap down my aero bottle. Crap. In addition to that I forgot to reattach my bottle cage to my bike frame. Well, it's a hot day for riding so I better figure something out. My water bottle got stuffed in my back jersey pocket and I had a eureka moment when I realized I could use my spi belt to tie down my aero bottle.

An uneventful ride when all is said and done. I saw a bunch of other riders out. The wind coming out of the south sucked. Even though I appreciated it on the way back in, I could've done without it on those hills on 550 rd. Overall, a good ride. I was expecting it to suck, and it did in parts, but I ended up surprising myself with what I churned out.
