We'll call this 30 minutes. I headed out on my bike for a mostly easy spin with a few brief intervals of intensity. In the middle of this I stopped over at an elementary school parking lot and practiced some bike mounts, dismounts, and slipping my feet into my shoes while on the bike - something I haven't done before for a race but I think I'm ready to give it a go.

Eh. I wasn't feeling really up for a swim, but it was short and sweet. Felt good enough in the water I suppose. I did try out a new pair of goggles to replace my broken pair and upgrade from my sup-par back-up goggles. Great peripheral vision but they really suck on to my face and I'm pretty sure I'll have some raccoon eyes going on if I wear them for an entire 1.2 mile swim.
Taper week sucks. I didn't feel great, the exact opposite what I want to be feeling. It just didn't come easy on this short run. But I know better and have done this enough to know this is normal. As my wife reminded me afterward I've done some solid training up to this point and there is nothing to worry about.
