Trainer ride while waiting for satellite modem man to show up.
Treadmill run after swim banquet
Oh, what a frustrating day. We are *finally* able to get high speed internet at my house (cannot get cable or DSL in my location), so I took the day off to wait for the satellite modem installer guy. The appt time was between 8 am and noon. To make a very LONG and frustrating story shorter, he finally arrived at 2:45 pm. grrr His time estimate for set up was 2 hours. When he left at 6:15 pm (yeah, 3.5 hours later), the modem still wasn't working. But, we had to leave for my daughter's swim team banquet, so I couldn't stand there and babysit him anymore. I had already cancelled daughter #1's ortho appt, and had daughter #2 skip swim practice so that we could sit at home to get this done, but alas, it was not to be. He's supposedly coming back tomorrow night to finish it. He said after 5:00, so I'll expect him around midnight.
And the swim banquet was 2.5 hours long. 2.5 hours!! Good grief. The team's just not that big. Finally got to the Y at 9:35 pm, and it closes at 10:00.
Crabby.

LAME! Apparently the swim team didn't run late last week, it's just their new schedule. So, of the big 3 hours of lap swim available PER WEEK at the local Y, one hour of that is now overlapped by the swim team. GRRR. This is not a knock on the swim team (this is my daughters' team), but rather on the very lame local Y.
(Note: when I swim at lunch, it's at a different Y near my work, not my local one near home.)

Running with Autumn! I always go farther and faster when I run with her.
Yes folks, I ran 6 miles today. (We walked the last 0.2.)
As copied from Autumn's log:
"ran with kelly. east river road to the ford bridge, across the river, along the lower trails on west river road to the marshall/lake bridge, then back again along east river road. look at that drop off! kelly and i set out to run 5.5 miles. got to 5.5 at theh top of a hill, so i said 'let's at least get the downhill in!" that got us to almost 6, so we ran a bit further to get in 6, then doubled back and walked the last .2. of course, we decided to take a trail we'd never been on, so we were climbing over logs and rocks and getting covered in brambles, and our pace slowed to about 17 minute miles for that last .2 miles.
