This ride was cursed from the start, I think. Started later than I wanted. It was getting dark and I don't have clear lenses for my sunglasses, so I lef them at home. And then got a bug in my eye about 8 minutes in. Of course. I stopped and tried to get it out for a good five minutes. (Kind of difficult without any kind of mirror. Even some very nice passers-by tried to help me. lol) Then, it started pouring. So, I turned around and went home. I was hoping maybe the rain would wash the bug out of my eye and then move aside in leiu of sunny skies, but neither happened.
I didn't get that damn bug out of my eye until about three hours later.

Another day of officiating.
I have rarely been so glad for a meet to be over.
And despite the fact that we lost, softball was the highlight of the weekend. Our church has two teams, and this was the week we played each other. It was a good game, but we came up short, losing 4-3 (some tough defense was played tonight). I was 1 for 3 at the plate. Will have to copy forward the updated stats later.

This should actually be five hours. Yes, five straight hours of walking up and down the side of a 50m pool. That's what happens when there is a swim meet with 700+ swimmers and a prelims/finals format, and only 4 officials show up.
And I so much love it when a coach comes up and questions one of the few DQ's we wrote, saying the deck coverage was uneven, when of course there is not one single official from his team present from his very large team. In fact, I don't know that his team even has any officials at all (each team is supposed to have at least 3). Yes, yes, I do love it when that happens.
