Ok, Today really blew. I was pissed about the Iron that I registered for next year. I should have done Brazil. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Then I get told I have to miss my first Century to come in to work on Sunday. SO PISSED. Then on my way to my workouts, I realize I forgot my HRM. Ok, I'll deal. Get to the gym and realize I forgot my flip flops and I had to walk around the locker room and pool without shoes!! GROSS!!!! I finish my swim and then realize I forgot my socks for my track workout and my underwear. So I hurried to the sports store to get some socks. At least I felt better after my intervals. Ok...no more complaining.

July 31

Left at 6:30am to meet my coach at 7 for my VO2 max test. This is the second time in 2 months to do it b/c the machine messed up last time and the results were inaccurate. Turns out it was b/c the mask was too big for my head. Who knew I had the smallest head of all his clients?!

I get on the treadmill to start the test. Mask on, in the process of warming up. He plugs the tube and some other thing into the machine to start the test......cue impending doom music......the machine craps out!! Just my luck. Very expensive machine is broken. Can't do test. Waste of getting up early since my ride wasn't scheduled until 10am. We went to get coffee and discuss my IM race plan and nutrition strategies he wants me to start trying. Not a complete waste, I got to spend a couple hours good quality time with my coach.

Rode the trainer for over an hour while watching an ironman video. Nice easy aerobic ride.
Forgot my HRM. Next time I won't forget.

Took the day off! Between the race Sunday and my half session of speedwork Monday, I was spent.
