Ugh. Sorta hungover. Had 5 drinks at the benefit/gala for the architecture school, then got 5hrs of sleep. Had to get up to watch K race in Las Cruces. Even though my drinks were spread out over 5 hours, combined with my alcohol intolerance and lack of sleep, it wasn't pleasant. Had a great time at the event though!
Haven't had a night like that in...many years. Went to the event. Danced. Crashed a fashion show with my tampon dress, my friend in her speedo and a guy dressed as a Dr. Then got into an "exclusive" bar, it's beyond me. Watched a go-go type dancer do some lines of coke. Craziness!
March 31
300 wu, 6x50 sprints on 1:00 (usually 10-12 sec rest), 100cd
It's been a pretty solid month. My calendar hasn't been that pink in...probably years! I don't care to do the 'all pink' thing, I value rest days, your body needs them.
However, I've got to change some things. I've fluctuated in the same 5lb range all month. Only a net loss of 1lb for the month. Insane. I've done great with cleaning up my food since Jan and my workouts are a priority, I'm getting consistent. So, Apr, I've got some new goals.
We put our CF membership on hold. It's 15min away and when my time is very tight between work, school & hours the gyms are open, I just haven't had time. Since my day is spent in the same 5mi radius, I'm going to start lifting and doing interval type workouts at the gym on base, that's much closer than CF. Since I go to the pool anyway, it won't be hard to add that into my routine.
EAT MORE. I think I'm not eating enough. Done some reading and found your body adapts to low carb/primal/paleo and levels out after 9-12 weeks. It's been exactly 12 weeks. Yikes! This is not where I want to level off at: I've still got 15lbs to lose. People say I look much better, but this is still not good enough for me. So, upping food intake, upping weights.
Time to mix it up!
March 30
Lunchtime abs
Twists, hanging leg stuff, situps to throw w/medicine ball
Slept a little over 8 hours and feel like a zombie. Beat. Work was insane yesterday and today I volunteered to work 10hrs since we're short staffed. The money is always good, but I feel like a zombie this morning. Thankfully getting off at 5:30 will allow a 9p bedtime: no alarm tomorrow.
Sore from my little weight session yesterday! Means I need to do much more of it. My aim for lunch workouts is 4x/wk.
March 29
Quick swim, very crowded pool. Swim lessons only meant 2 lap lanes. Had 4 people in my lane :/
Lunchtime gym action:
3x:
Push press into back squat (55lbs)
Russian twists (10lb)
3x:
Front squat (55lb)
Russian twist

0400: woke up at 357. Lovely. Not what I need on a Wed when I have class until almost 10 tonight, then work at 7 tomorrow. Not cool. Guess I'll drink a pot of coffee, then head over to the pool.
When I go to bed, I find a program on NPR and fall asleep listening to it. The latest Radiolab is great! Mary Roach, author of Bonk, Stiff starts it out and talks about William Beaumont, an Army doc. Yes, exciting stuff I know.
