A new path

Run to the Sun AM dog park in the neighborhood.
Trek Factory Demo @ state park. Rode a $6k bike...waaaayyyy out of my league & way too much bike for me. Awesome though. FUN!
FitBit: 9688 steps, 44 floors, 5.2mi. I forgot it on the charger in the evening, so I know it was well over 10k steps. Ooops.
May 5
FitBit: slow day! Stood around a lot, apparently didn't walk that much. 6352 steps, 7 floors, 2.69mi
May 4
Walk to work. Nice morning, excellent way to catch up with a friend! Might start alternating walk & run days so I can talk on the phone.
FitBit: 17959 steps, 61 floors, 9.57mi. This isn't counting our hour+ walk at the dog park, then shopping & dinner (I left it at dinner).

Mostly walk, some run, to work. Pretty good pace for mostly walking. Nice temps this AM, but windy. Getting a windstorm tonight.
35 pushups, 200 squats. Giving my shoulder a break, it's sore. Tweaked it at the pool party sat being stupid.
FitBit: don't know how to account for time with this. Have to do something so it shows, dunno.
Steps: 18,312.
Floors climbed: 61
Calories: 2782 (not that accurate I know)

So one of our soldiers, a coworker, at work died 2 days ago (or middle of night on the 1st) in Afghanistan.
An ICU nurse.
Nothing has been released, not on the iCasulaties list and the "story" is unconfirmed. I'm hesitant to take it as 100% true (the cause/circumstance, not the actual death), but it's still mind blowing and sad.
It was rough at work yesterday and I don't imagine the rest of the week will be any better.

Lunch tabatas! 1min walk, 4min tabatas, 1cd.
7.5% incline, 8.2mph.
100pu, 260 squats.

Alright, April was pretty weak. Tight nutrition fell off the radar & my work workouts were almost non-existent due to the marathons & travel. Hitting it hard for May! My weight has been the same for almost a month. Ugh. Guess this will be a long road.
Why Haley Can't Have Nice Things, v. 8.0:
I ordered a FitBit a couple weeks ago after seeing my friends in action while we were in Boston. Amazing! Love it. Not a 100% accurate piece of equipment, but it's definitely good to see trends. It arrived Friday evening. Set it up, used it Sat! Sat went to the pool party...forgot it was on my bathing suit. By Sunday, didn't work. Lovely. (sending it back to Amazon, already ordered a new one)
Last Monday I locked my keys in the car. Brilliance again. While getting my crap together standing next to the door (Jacket, phone, wallet), I realized my keys were in the ignition. Then I dropped my phone. Now it has cracks on the top 1/4 of the face...along with the back being completely shattered.
Lets count here: 2 shattered iPhones, countless ipods, & iPad broken (while in a case) & now a FitBit.

3 rounds of 30 russian twists, 10 medicine ball sit-ups, 10 squats
K's latest scan came back ok. Not 'great', but in the words of our radiologist friend, "I wouldn't worry too much right now..." That wasn't too comforting to me, so K talked to him extensively at the party on Sat and the area of concern hasn't changed, or showed new growth, so that's good. Stable is good. However, it is a major uptake area of the contrast dye, meaning it's still live tissue around the bottom (!! :( not good, where his sensory functions are) border of his last tumor. The top area is dead/scar tissue so that's good. It was bigger than I imagined, so even with a big hole in his brain, and dead brain tissue, that EEefff'er is still freaking smart. Glad he had some to spare. :)
It was a rough couple of days last week with just rumors and no info released to the media. Finally, on Thurs eve/Friday AM, more info came out. His poor, poor wife.
I don't like that picture of him, so here's a better one:
