Walked the dogs at the River after work. Always a good speed-walk.

So, like I wrote before, I put in my resignation with my boss on Monday. Yesterday the Anesthesia Dept offered me a job. A big promotion to work directly for one of the Dr's. (who is awesome, btw). They're creating a job and they wanted me. Just me. Talk about a dagger to the heart. I was offered it not only for my competence, but because they all like me, I "fit in" (as she said) and would be great for the job. A huge personal and professional compliment, and wow, that makes me feel good. Oh, and about a 20-30k raise. SIGGGHHHH....Opportunities like this don't come around that often, but I got some goals. Unfortunately it will mean spending the next 5 or so years back in school. But, that's ok. I guess I'm going out on a high note, but man it hurts. I really like most of the people I work with and I love my job. And this one they offered, would have been even better: 6a-3p, M-F, no call, no holidays, assisting in procedures & in the OR. Trying not to kick myself, but if I took it, I'd never go back to school and advance. Need to remember that. Need to remember that. Need to remember that....
But I am bummed. K wants to live by the water, and since I found a school close to some, that comes first right now.
I'm trying not to go down the slippery slope I know I'm capable of. I'm pretty sad to be leaving, have some great friends here (since thats about all thats here, and hiking & mexican food). Had my first really sad moments last night & this am. The slope is that if K wasn't sick, I wouldn't have to feel like we have to "hurry" and live our whole life now. If, if, if...But, the flip side is that we'd probably be like everyone else and, put things off & not make some things happen. But it just doesn't feel "fair" some days that EVERY freaking decision is made with this comment up front "Is this something we/he needs to do in case he never gets the chance?" Sucks.
Got my haircut again. Even shorter. I think I'm biting the bullet and getting a "cute pixie" cut, as my hair stylist calls it, at the end of July.

Put in my resignation at work. Nauseating. Risky. But, it's the right decision. Going to miss my job!
I'm actually going to "taper" this week for the 50k. It's been so long since I "trained" and "tapered" I don't really know what that means, or what I should do anymore. I do know, I won't be doing much CF, my legs need to rest. Maybe lots more walking and short runs.

3 hours of sorting, packing, making garage sale & donation piles. Was most of the day, but I'll only log 3. Only left the house to pick up K who sliced his bike tire & was stranded. Didn't even change out of pajamas all day!
FitBit: 7366 steps, 3.2 miles. Not bad for not leaving the house all day!

FitBit: 20786 steps, 203 floors climbed!!!, 9.26miles The hike was 172 floors.
Awesome, brutal, hike. From McKelligon Canyon to TransMountain road. 7ish miles, from 4500-6500 feet. Up. Down. Up. Down...Tons of climbing. Took us 2+ hours faster than last time, and we went the MUCH harder way. Much more uphill. Going up from Trans only takes up 45min to get to the high point, as it's all switchbacks. It took us 2 hours to get up today, then some playing around, and a leisurely hour to get down. I added some interval sprints/runs and some extra climbs for fun. Good time! Love that hike.
