A new path

Results from Sat aren't up.
New week! Was lazy yesterday and napped, cooked, etc. Back to the grind this week. School starts today too, but I'm only taking one class so hopefully life won't change too much. I've been so productive during this break!
CF and maybe a trainer ride tonight.

Ooopsies. Up goes another one. ---------------->>>>>>>>>>>
I wouldn't say I had enough 'fun' yesterday to want to do another tri, but there's one next weekend in Ft. Sumner, where Billy the Kid was killed & buried. So, as much as I'm tired of travel, I just couldn't pass up the name, the location & the tombstone shirt. I probably shouldn't have signed up for a race within 24 hours of doing one. I guess I'll have to ride my bike again.

Race results aren't up yet. I did ok...considering. At least my bike still works!
Stopped in Cloudcroft on the way home and had lunch with Brittany, nice to catch up & nice it worked out that way. Dog park in the evening with friends.

Oh manohmanohhhhhman my quads are SO sore! Tried very short bursts of "jogging" and it wasn't happening. So, a nice walk to work it was.
Holy shit its June. Like, whoa.Â
- Leaving right after work for a sprint tomorrow AM outside Artesia Springs, NM. I haven't ridden by bike since...last May? I think I did a sprint in August, but I hadn't ridden my bike since May before then...or since. Oh well, this should be good and absurd. Especially since my legs HURT from CrossFit. No point in "tapering" either!Â
- My "heathy eating" lasted about a day. Went to a BBQ last night at a friends and had the most amazing escargot & cheeses. Some fancy appys they had. I promptly told K that he'd need to go get some of the escargot next week we can have more. AMAZING. But, anything soaked in butter & garlic is.
- June = moving in less than 2 months. Eeeek. I'm going to be sad, as yet again, have some great friends here (one big reason why I took a job here) and we'll be far away. But, we'll be closer to other great friends. Sigh. Can't everyone live in one place that I choose?!Â
- K is pressuring me to pick a gun, asap. One of our friends is a licensed dealer and will sell me one at wholesale (or $1 over, as he legally can't sell at wholesale price), but I need to decide before we move. It's a tough choice between this cute!, palm-sized, Texas-made one, or a more practical revolver. Why can't practical things be better looking?! Yes, I know guns are controversial, and I believe you shouldn't have them in your home (for protection) if one isn't prepared to use it. So my logic is to get the one that ensures if someone was attacking me, it would stop them better. Which is not the cute, palm-sized one. :( Tough choice!Â

This new CF gym makes me feel like I'm going to die. Or, during my keel-over-and-try-to-stay-alive periods, wonder if the painful burn throughout my body means I'll get Rhabdo. I had planned on my 4mile jaunt to work again this morning, but we have plans at a friends house right when I get off work. So, no time for CF...tough choices and I'm bummed I can't run to work, but walking is free and CF is not. So, CF in the morning, maybe some treadmill at the hospital gym during lunch. I'll walk to work tomorrow.
Was browsing XOJane last night after reading Bridget's link and came across this absolute gem, that is me. Or,the me that I suppress, the Aggie part, that comes out occasionally. Usually when I wear my cowboy boots and dresses.

Walk/jog. Vibrams: stepped on something really sharp in an intersection, didnt have tume (cars), to look at what it was. Hurt so bad i had to stop to make sure I wasnt bleeding! Thats never happened before. This work route is getting easier! My lungs hurt, I think it's the Wildfire in Gila.
FitBit: 20291 steps, 59 floors, 10.29mi
Running to work, then CF after work. Love that it's a short week, can't believe it's Wed already. Oh yeah, was exhausted after work yesterday and K was tired too, so we bailed on the gym. Got 9 hours of sleep...wonderful.
Gained weight at Noot's over the weekend: 5lbs of crawfish (just for me), jambalaya, margaritas, turtle stew, etc. etc...Need to stop using travel as an excuse to indulge. Don't think that'll change though. It's such a treat!
Cracking the whip again since I won't be traveling for a while. Have to lose at least 10-15lbs to meet my birthday goal. Totally realistic, I've got almost 4months.

Has anyone else seen the new Lulu Jumper?! WANT!
Ok, results are up and imported. I'm a dummy and accidentally put them into the BtK race that's THIS weekend and didn't know why I had to change distances on the RR. I don't think sometimes.
Anyway, my mini breakdown of splits:
swim: bad. Even though I haven't swam in 2 months, over 2:00/100 is slow for me, especially just 500m. 2 gagging episodes in the duck-shit water (so, so gross) and my tri top being too big makes sense.
bike: no expectations. My worst event always and least favorite. Surprised I averaged 15 considering the big hills in the middle of the out-and-back
run: got off the bike and told myself "under 30min". I had NO idea if this was possible given my less than stellar training (none) and my extremely sore legs from CrossFit. So, I was very pleased I squeezed that one out!
