I can think of no better Mother's Day present than a successfully grown child. My son, James, graduated Cum Laude from N.C. State University as a Mechanical Engineer this weekend. He begins his new job (making more money than mom) on June 11. It is kind of bittersweet. I am certainly proud of my son, but sad that he no longer needs me and will be taking over his own life now. But, wow... what will I do with all of the money I'll save? Tri gear?

Where did the time go?

Took Tiny Roo out for the first time since IMFL. He still had his IMFL mileage on the odometer! When I got on, it felt really weird. I had forgotten how different a Tri bike feels from a road bike. It took me a few minutes, but I settled right into it.
It was windy! And since I'm totally our of shape right now, I decided to just let it be a leisurely ride. I've done very little since my knee injury and do NOT want a re-occurrence.
I kept thinking about my teammate Jason out on the bike course at IM Texas and wondering how he was doing.
On the way back I saw these cows and just HAD to stop to take a pic of this little fella with the white face. Cute!
Brick off the bike at the little track where I park. I figured running circles on a track would be the best way to check my systems out; in case anything happened, I would not be far from the car.
I felt good, but it was HOT and I am not accustomed to running in heat. I had a water bottle on a picnic table and stopped to get a drink after each mile.
I am encouraged that I am completely healed and just need to build my endurance back up now.
