LAST base building ride to Camp Mackall. We've been getting re-acquainted with hills, but Camp MacKall is nothing compared to the merciless Fort Bragg Loop that awaits us next week. I feel ready though and am anxious to get Tiny Roo out there. Roo has never done the Loop; I've always taken Sunny. Can't wait to see how he handles!
I did not do well today, felt a bit queazy. I thought my HR was high or erratic, but when I checked my Garmin, it seemed fine. I think I just got over-heated by the intense humidity plus my quads were spent from yesterday's intervals on the treadmill. I'll make sure I am rested and fueled next week.
Oh... and here is a horse tied to a tree at the side of the road.

These three sessions were back to back. I must admit I was pretty tired and hungry by the time I finished. I didn't really think about nutrition with this all being indoors, but I think I would have held up longer had I used something. I had to make up Wednesday's swim and then to make matters worse, I did not get up and run before work like I planned. That left me with three workouts to do after work today. And I did not even do all of my bike; it was supposed to be 90 min. I may do some light spinning tomorrow to make up some of the time, but otherwise I just want to rest and recover to be fresh for Sunday's long bike around the hilly Fort Bragg Loop.
I heard the Muncie 70.3 got changed to an Olympic due to the heat index. Participants just found out the night before the race. How disappointing.
