Morale is perhaps at an all-time low for Denise. It appears at random chance she has caught the flu at the worst possible time. Hard to evaluate wtf is happening though with all the variables. Nevertheless, she's down for the count for the forseeable future. She was rather annoyed with the whole situation this morning, and I don't blame her.
[self on] I'm screwed for the 1/2. If I hadn't badgered a friend into doing it I'd bail faster than a deckhand on the titanic. All this work and I'm focking the last 2-weeks of the whole operation. I can only do so much though, and I'm fried by the time I can hit the sack. Single parents...I salute you. I swear to effen God I'm gonna run long tomorrow morning, and hope that puts me back in some kind of running confidence mode. Problem is with kids stuff I'm not gonna be able to stop from now until about God knows when tonight. wahhh.[self off]

Blech, major setback with my wife last night. Everything was cruising along according to plan over the weekend, then last night she wakes up with major cramps about midnight that will not subside. Some bleeding as well. Call the OB and he is convinced it's GI related. Recommends heating pad on the stomach area, and rest. So, we do that for the rest of the night, with her able to sleep only in fits and starts. Nausea, fear, concern all playing a part in her feeling bad.
Mild improvement this morning but still spotting, so we're gonna see if we can't get her into the MD again today. Her OB has been spot-on everything over the years, so I trust his judgement. I'm beginning to believe this is just a bad case of the flu that came at the wrong freakin' time for her. Time will tell I suppose.

Sorry peeps. Everything appears back on track, at least for the moment. Denise had a small "flap" at the end of her incision that was leaking blood. So, she had to endure the unimaginable...someone going back "in there" and fixing it. Fortunately there's some paste that they can put on small leaks like this that seal it up. Plumbers putty, if you will. Probably 5-minutes of torture for Denise though. She gutted it out and is feeling better and ramping up again this morning.
I am a 2-sided candle with 4 sides burning right now. 50-hour plus work that I only had about 20-hours for. Shatloads of kids stuff and homework the minute I walk in the door at home. Attempting to care for Denise and her needs as best as possible, and train for a freakin' half marathon that's coming up fast. I don't think I'm doing a great job at any of it right now.
Have a great weekend peeps. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Forgot my watch for data, but this is how it went based on memory. I know the paces are right b/c I looked them up right after the run. Tough wind slowed some of the action. Felt good! Can't believe a few short weeks ago 1x20 tempo put me in the ditch. I was in the ditch here, but somehow it wasn't as deep.
Tempo Run
1x10 min warmup
1x20 7:38 pace
1x3 min recovery
1x20 7:24 pace
1x10 cooldown

Long run not happenin' today due to deluge of rain. So, I went out and did this. Tried to be "faster" but also stay smooth and relaxed. Worked well. Very focking wet and uncomfortable. I've said it before and I'll say it again, -10 with minimal wind is more comfortable than most damp chilly spring runs. Certainly the case today with the rain and wind.
Forgot the HR strap as I was getting ready. Long run still on deck for tomorrow or Friday.
Denise went to bed feeling shatty and slept like a rock. A whole new person this morning. YEA!!!! I/we've been waiting for this...sorta the breakthrough day in her recovery that we'd hoped for. Obviously it's early in the day and perhaps I'm being a bit optimistic. Thanks again for all your thoughts and offers of assistance from the local BT peeps. That is amazing that people I've barely met have come through with offers of assistance and other stuff. Cool. I hope I can repay the favor somehow.
Big props to jszat, who has helped me immesnely fitness-wise over the year, came through with some chicken and pasta salads from V.Richards, a local highly regarded deli/high-end grocery store around here. Thanks man, you're the best. Coming at a good time as the cupboards were starting to get bare.
Denise is gonna attempt to pick up the kids from school today, which is a step toward recovery. I'm still gonna do the rest of the PM activities, but that's a start.
